The Irish Green Building Council is the leading authority on sustainable building in Ireland.
With a network of over 190-member organisations, the IGBC is working to transform the
Irish construction and property sector into a global leader in quality and sustainability. The
IGBC is a trusted brand with a reputation for delivering high quality webinars and confer-
ences for our members and sponsors.

3OUR 2021 EVENT PROGRAMME
Through its comprehensive programme of online events, the Irish Green Building Council
provides insights to and the most current education on sustainable building advancements.
IGBC events are attended by a range of professionals from across the supply chain of the
built environment.
The Irish Green Building Council is the voice for sustainable building in Ireland. Over 11,000
construction and building professionals have attended IGBC’s events and webinars in 2020.
IGBC is keen to partner with our members in innovative ways. If you have

I. GREEN ROOM CONFERENCE
The Green Room is IGBC’s annual commercial building conference With updates from gov-
ernment and industry peers, the Green Room gives insights to the latest trends both nation-
ally and internationally in Green Building and in the construction sector.

5II. WHOLE LIFE CARBON CONFERENCE
The CO2 emission from constructing and operating our buildings are estimated to con-
tribute around 39% of global CO2 emissions. To date the focus has been on reducing the
operational energy of buildings. Now it is crucial to tackle the reduction of carbon emis-
sions associated with the construction of buildings. This conference explores the tools
and metrics available to transition to low carbon construction .
Date: Friday, 14 May 2021

Venue: ONLINE

6II. RENOVATION WAVE CONFERENCE
As many as 1.5 million Irish homes are considered energy inefficient and require up-
grade work between now and 2050. Retrofitting our homes and businesses is critical to
reach our climate targets, This conference explores the steps being taken to deliver a
renovation wave in Ireland and considers the associated benefits to the industry.

7II. BETTER HOMES CONFERENCE
Better Homes is IGBC’s annual residential conference exploring crucial issues such as,
how to deliver both quantity and quality. Better Homes 2021 will give an insight into the
latest thinking, technologies and tools for building greener, healthier homes.
Date: Thursday, 3rd December 2021
Time: 9.00am – 11.30am
Venue: ONLINE or Gibson Hotel (depending on restrictions)

8IV. IGBC WEBINARS SERIES
The IGBC lunchtime webinars provide top class presentations from industry experts on a
range of topics. In 2020 we broadcast 34 webinars to over 3,000 participants across the
country.
Currently we have three webinar series
planned for 2021:
• Retrofitting Homes
• Green Products
• Retrofitting Traditional Buildings
Format: Online Wednesdays 13.00 to
14.00 for 8 weeks
Dates: February, April and June 2021
Target Audience: Webinars are an effective way of engaging a wide audience
from across the country. Our webinar series are broadcasted during lunch hour
thereby facilitating participation from a wide audience. Afterwards they are made
available on IGBC’s Learning Hub.
The IGBC will work and consult with sponsors with regards to programme con-
tent and speaker suggestions.
