SUMMER SCHOOL 2020 We have many new and exciting programmes on offer as well as the old favourites. Nursery children will once again learn in the comfort and security of the specialised Early Learning areas at The Lady Elizabeth School in Benitachell. They will learn English during play and fun activities which include, dance, swimming, gym, art & craft, dance and free play. They will be in the care of our friendly, professional and highly qualified nursery staff and their assistants who focus on the children following a fun and varied programme. The 5 - 8 and 9 - 11 year old children will enjoy learning English during inspirational lessons. Our professional English teachers focus on the four skills of learning a language with particular emphasis placed on speaking and communication. A variety of activities are included in the programme and in 2020 we have added exciting activities and workshops. Children will love to learn Circus Skills and sporting activities such as Tennis which have been included in the new 2020 Summer Programme. In 2020 teenage students will be able to choose specific programmes so that they can focus on something that they really enjoy, rather than doing activities which might not be of interest to them. They will combine an Academic Subject with a specialised activity which is chosen before the course begins. They have the choice of four Academic Subjects and eight Elective Subjects. We feel that this choice allows students to participate in subjects that they like and have a passion for. Our excellent Residential Programme, where students stay with a Host Family, continues in 2020 with the fabulous addition of our wonderful Boarding House Facility, situated within 30 minutes of The Lady Elizabeth School. Students will have the choice of whether they stay with a Host Family or they can opt for the Boarding House where they will stay with up to 25 other students from countries all around the world.

Session. They cannot join the second week of a Session which has already commenced. They can do two, three, four, five,
six or eight weeks but they must always start at the beginning of a Session.
It is preferred that the 9 - 11 Group also join at the beginning of a Session, however, as their programme is more flexible
under special circumstances they will be allowed to join on the second week of a Session.

Nursery children enjoy a variety of activities during their time
at Summer School. Our friendly and professional staff place
emphasis on the children having fun and provide a varied and
active programme for both the half day and full day course.
With face painting, dance, music, art, gym/sport and swimming,
there is never a dull moment and learning comes naturally in the
relaxed, safe and cheerful environment.
Each fortnight even our youngest Summer School children will
participate in activities relating to the fortnightly theme. In the first
two weeks of Summer School our little ones will learn some fun
and exciting circus skills which they will show to their parents at
the performance.
The nursery is based in rooms especially for children of this
age. The courtyard between the classrooms is equipped with
playground equipment, sand pits and bikes with a large sheltered
and shady area for the children to play.
The children follow a daily routine which includes rest periods
where they can either have a short siesta or quietly watch a film
in a room which is created for this purpose.
All activities are creative and are taught in English. Spanish
classes are given to those children who are at Summer School to
learn Spanish.
Children from different corners of the globe mix together in
perfect harmony creating a happy and memorable time for your

ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Students sit an English examination upon arrival at Summer
School and are put into groups based on the exam result. There
are generally four levels, Beginner,
Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate and Advanced. Special
consideration is given to students who are looking at passing a
Cambridge or equivalent exam and they are put into a class with
others who have the same aim.
English is taught in a relaxed environment with a lot of emphasis
on speaking activities.
Students work in pairs or small groups to build confidence and
fluency in real life scenarios. They develop skills in thinking,
reading, writing, listening and speaking in English. Class sizes are
small so that teachers are able to give students individual support
and help during the lessons.
Group activities include University Challenge, Running Dictations,
Quizzes, Student Presentations and Debates. These activities
encourage students to work in teams and to have fun whilst
learning.

@SUMMER SCHOOL
In 2020 we have two residential options. Students can either stay with a Host Family or they can stay in the Boarding Facility which
is approximately 30 minutes from the School. Either way students will have a wonderful time getting to know other students from
different countries around the world whilst studying English in a wonderful safe environment at a fabulous school.
HOST FAMILY
RESIDENTIAL
We hand-pick our Host Families, visiting their
homes and ensuring that they have up-to-date
police checks. We try and make the best possible
matches between students and families to ensure
that they all have a great summer experience.
Many of our Host Families have children of their
own whilst others have grown-up children who
live away from home. Either way the Host Parents
are welcoming and children staying with them are
made to feel welcome and comfortable.
During the week students have breakfast with the
Host Family before they leave for school. Some
Host Families drive the children to The Lady
Elizabeth School and others use the bus service.
Families provide the students with a snack and a
drink for break time and lunch is provided by the
school.
The evening meal is had with the Host Family and
on many occasions Host Families get together with
other families to have BBQs or social gatherings
where students can see their friends from school.
We offer 24-hour assistance and pastoral care for
our families and the students staying with them.
We know and trust our families and the best
testimonials that we have are that students want to
repeat with the same family year after year.RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMME

BOARDING HOUSE
FACILITY
A fabulous addition to Summer School 2020 is our
wonderful Boarding House Facility which is situated
within 30 minutes of The Lady Elizabeth School.
House Parents will care for a small number of
children aged from 12 to 17 years from different
countries around the world. A bus will transport
students to and from school each morning and
afternoon and in the evenings there will be activities
organised by the House Parents.
The Boarding Facility has a large pool, a table
tennis table, large community areas and is
beautifully furnished. Meals will be prepared by the
House Parents and all students will eat together in
the dining area.
On Saturday boarders will go with other students,
staying with Host Families, to one of the theme
parks in Benidorm. On Sunday they will go on
cultural trips to Valencia or Alicante, or go to the
beach to participate in one of the great outdoor
activities in the local area.
Students will have an unforgettable experience
staying in the Boarding House and will make lasting
friendships with students from all around the world.Valencia Airport - The Lady Elizabeth
