Facebook: Burnham SchoolKia ora koutou te whānau ō Burnham,
I wish you all a great holiday break over the Easter period, enjoy the five
day break, remember Tuesday is a holiday too. Take time to rest and
relax with your whanau. Try something new, give your children a new
experience, consider taking the bus to the Margaret Mahy playground,
the new playground in New Brighton, the new Rolleston playground, the
two playgrounds in West Melton or explore further afield. Take photos
and encourage your children to share these back in class after holiday period. All ideas will
help the children to pitch their ideas to the BOT to enhance our playground environment.
Thank you for supporting the PTA in their endeavours to fundraise for this project. Until a
Achievement - Angitu
design has been put together and we have received a quote, we don’t know how much this
will cost. We do know however, that it will be considerable. So your support with our
fundraising projects is greatly appreciated. The Easter Raffle made $2029. The raffle was
drawn today. Please find the results on the next page.
Thanks to everyone for making our triathlon and duathlon today such a success. Thanks for
coming along to watch and for ensuring your children were able to bring their bikes to
school. I opened the bike track earlier in the week and the children enjoyed being able to
use this. If you are able to spare sometime over the lunch break and supervise in this area
please just pop in and we will announce that the bike tramp will be open over the intercom.
I have included in this newsletter a flyer from ‘Sparklers’ . It contains ideas and tips on how
to help teach your children gratitude. Being grateful has a huge impact on our well-being on
how we feel about ourselves and others. Take the time to read this and consider
implementing one or more of the suggestions. I can personally vouch for having a gratitude
diary. It does retrain your brain to think
positively and in turn make you feel
happier.
Welcome to the following new
Kind regards students:

Congratulations to Sienna who was awarded a Values Wrist Band this week at
