Information
THE TOURNAMENT
The MIC is the prestigious
World Cup Tournament for
young talents that includes
the participation of teams
from around the world in 5
different categories and takes
place in different cities of La
Costa Brava, Girona, North of
Barcelona.
The main objective of the event is that
any young soccer player can compete
against the most famous clubs in the
world. From the beginning, the
tournament has been supported by
famous football personalities such as
Pep Guardiola, Luis Felipe Scolari,
Ronaldo, Ronaldinho.
Some MIC participants have already made their debut with first division clubs
such as Leo Messi, (FC Barcelona), Cesc Fàbregas (Arsenal FC), Anderson
(Manchester United), Lucas (Livepool FC) and Marcelo (Real Madrid CF).

GIRONA
It is the capital of the province of the same name. It is 99 km northeast of
Barcelona and is one of the main Catalan cities with a population of 96,772
inhabitants. The historic city of Girona invites visitors to trace its more than 2,000
years of history through two fortified enclosures, the Força Vella and the Medieval
Quarter.
The artistic heritage of the city has been preserved in the many monuments that
have survived to this day. The highlight of Girona is completed by the impressive
old Jewish district or Call, with its beautiful arcaded streets and squares, and
with the exuberant Baroque spaces and buildings of the Noucentist style of the

you through some streets of the Jewish quarter and to the top of the city wall.

Opening hours
Shops in Barcelona open at 9 or 10am and close at 8 (some later). Note that some have a
lunch break from 2 to 4 or 5pm.
Electrical adaptors
Electricity supply in Spain is 220V. Plugs have two round pins and an additional ground pin.
A standard travel adaptor plug will enable you to use appliances from abroad.
Water
In Barcelona tap water, public fountains,.. is safe to drink. In those few cases that is not,
you will find the following sign : “Agua no potable”.
VAT
In all establishments, service is included in the price. This isn’t the case in hotels and
restaurants, where the legend ‘IVA NO INCLUIDO’ (VAT NOT INCLUDED) may come next to
the price. In that case a 10% will be added.
If you spend more than a 100 € on a store you are able to get your tax back.
Tips
In Spain, you may tip or not depending exclusively on how happy you are with the service
you get. Among the locals, at least, it’s always been up to the consumer to decide whether
and how much to tip. Your waiter won’t protest if you just get up and leave.
Weather
The winter is relatively humid but mild and the summer is dry. The rainy seasons are the
once in between, autumn and spring. The distinguishing marks of this climate are the 3 to
5 months of the dry summer, which is caused by the sinking air of the subtropical highs.
There are very few days of extreme temperature, heat or cold, and that`s why the average
of the minimum and the maximum in Barcelona is temperate, typical for the
Mediterranean mild climate.

The best option to change money is in the airport of Barcelona. During your stay in
Barcelona you can change money in the banks (only morning shift) or in the change offices
