                      “It is an honour to be invited as Urban
                      Couture Ambassadors in Joondalup.
                      This means a lot to us as it coincides
                      with us researching into our archives
                      for several fabulous projects. Working
                      together in Sydney in the 70’s saw the
                      beginning of our collaboration and
                      long-term friendship and it is timely
                      that we can share some of our
                      colourful stories with the young artists
                      and designers in Western Australia.

beginning of the greatest creative love affair of my life.
I placed my first order with her, to be ready for the
opening of Flamingo Park. I knew now that the shop
would be perfect – Linda Jackson was there…”

     Linda Jackson. Fatin, a former
     ABC producer and journalist will
     interview Kee and Jackson who
     are best known for their influential
     Bush Couture studio and their Sydney
     boutique, Flamingo Park in the 1970s.
     Both are pioneers of Australian style
     and internationally acclaimed artists
     and designers exhibiting at the
     National Gallery of Victoria. One
     of their most famous collaborations
     is the chunky-knit koala jumper that
     Diana, Princess of Wales was
     photographed wearing at a polo

for young designers to meet, network and
showcase their work in public. PechaKucha is
a short, sharp presentation style devised in
Tokyo, that invites speakers to use 20 images
relevant to their work with 20 seconds allotted
to discuss each image.

     Jeremy Lane is an Iluka based

small, so upsizing them is always interesting. It is
always exciting seeing something drawn larger than it
is in reality. On top of that, shoes are so recognisable,
the viewer can always relate. We all use them, all have
them. We all have our preferences and tastes even if
we are not necessarily a fan of fashion.

Claire Townsend has been teaching jewellery
design and techniques for over 20 years, as well
as exhibiting her own work across Australia and
overseas. In this workshop you will use stencils
to create colour pieces using vitreous enamels.
The class will include sifting and liquid enamels
and demonstrate a range of mark making techniques
to introduce this wonderful colour medium. Materials
provided. Participants will be required to bring a
small paintbrush, colour pencils, a notebook and
a small jar with a lid. Limited to eight participants only.
