FRWelcome to Phoenix! Thank you for joining us at IFA 2018 — IFA’s 58th Annual Convention.
We’re excited for franchise professionals to come together for another can’t-miss event. We have
a tremendous show lined up with cutting-edge programming and networking events designed for
franchisors, franchisees and our supplier partners.
Over the next few days, you’ll learn insights from the “Brandfather of Hollywood” and founder
of CAVU Venture Partners Rohan Oza, who you may recognize as a Guest Shark on ABC’s
“Shark Tank.” He’s built brands such as Smartwater, Vitaminwater, popchips, Vita-Coco and Bai
Beverages into billion dollar enterprises. We are also thrilled to bring the audience together in a
unique learning platform that will not only provide great take-away value, but will be extremely
entertaining – a presentation from The Music Paradigm. Under the leadership of Maestro Roger
Nierenberg, exercises between conductor and musicians demonstrate leadership lessons that
Shelly Sun speak to the importance of teamwork, responsibility, effectiveness, and unity in any type of
organization. On Tuesday, Daymond John will take the stage. Daymond is the founder of FUBU,
star of “Shark Tank”, and as a serial entrepreneur, you won’t want to miss what he has to say to
aspiring business owners as a guest judge for the NextGen in Franchising Global Competition. Also
on Tuesday, hear about transformational ideas, innovations in franchise development and how to
build future leaders during our new “Big Ideas in 15 Minutes” session with presentations from high
energy franchisors.
It’s easy to customize your schedule for IFA 2018. Download the event app, “IFA Connect,” to
create your own agenda by searching for categories based on your profession, such as Marketing,
Development, Operators, etc. Tap the star graphic on the sessions you would like to attend and
they will be added to your schedule in the app. You can also view personalized agendas on
franchise.org/convention under the “Agenda” tab.
Plan to spend time in our Exhibit Hall and learn from more than 300 supplier companies about
Robert Cresanti the state-of-the-art products and services they can offer your franchise to help it operate more
successfully in the future. In addition, you will not want to miss “The Buzz” on Saturday evening
where you can say hello to friends and colleagues while making new contacts to kick off the
Convention. This year’s franchise party of the year, “The Bash”, will take place at The Duce, once
featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”, on Monday evening and is the perfect setting for an
evening of fun!
Emerging brands are encouraged to stay and participate in our second annual post-convention
Emerging Franchisor Bootcamp on Tuesday afternoon where expert franchise leaders will serve as
mentors sharing their war stories and lessons learned to help this growing segment of our industry
succeed.
We would like to offer our gratitude to the IFA Convention Committee for creating an outstanding
conference program and express our heartfelt appreciation to all of the sponsors that help to make
this the best industry event that franchise professionals can attend. If we, or the IFA staff, can do
anything to enhance your experience here, please let us know.
We look forward to charting the future of franchising, together!
