This guide is an overview of the facilities,
services and a general guide to help you
enjoy your stay.
Staff: Pae is the villa manager and is available to meet you in person or take a call/email if there’s anything you need. Pae is assisted by two staff who are responsible for your daily needs including breakfast and maid service. Their normal hours are from 8.00am to 5pm, but Pae can be contacted out of these mes if needed. Check-in: Check-in is a er 3pm and check-out is 11am. We are happy for you to check-in early, or, check-out a li le later, if there isn’t another guest checking in, or out, on the same day. Upon check-in we require you to pay a security deposit of 30,000 Baht in cash. The deposit is returned at the end of your stay minus any damages or costs of extra services you may have booked. We take copies of all passports and also hold two passports from the party for added security and immigra on checks. However, we do require all guests to se le any damage claims upon checkout. Lockers: In each wardrobe there is a locker for your valuables. We encourage you to use them at all mes. To set up simply enter a four digit code + A or B and turn the dial. To open, enter your code and turn the dial. Kitchen equipment: The kitchen is fully equipped with essen al items. If you are unfamiliar with how anything works, such as the coffee maker, then please ask our staff for help (or be er s ll, let them make a coffee for you). Pre-stocking: If you would like to order in advance any items for your arrival we can provide this for you. There is a small charge for this service of the cost of the items plus 20% (minimum charge 650 Baht). Drinks: Tea, coffee and drinking water are available free of charge. Water from the tap is not drinkable in Samui so please only consume the filtered water from the cooler in the kitchen. An in-villa wine list featuring red, white and sparkling wines is also available. Please ask the villa manger for details. Breakfast: Breakfast is served in the kitchen/dining area on the pool level. Timings can be flexible to suit your needs, but usually are from 8.00am un l 10.30am. Please inform the staff the night before if you would like a late or early breakfast. Lunch: Our staff can cook meals for you and we invite you to chose from our Thai set menus. For other choices, just ask the villa manager. Dinner: During your stay, we recommend that you experience (at least once) the ‘Samayra Thai Gala Dinner’. It gives you a great opportunity to try some classic Thai dishes prepared, cooked and served in the authen c way. You can watch, or even join in with the cooking as everything is prepared fresh in the villa.
BBQ: Another experience not to be missed is the'Samayra BBQ’. Our award winning professional chef selects the freshest seafood from the daily catch and cooks it anyway you like it for a ‘Samayra Seafood Feast’. For meat lovers, you can order the finest cuts of imported steaks from the US and Australia for our ‘Samayra Meat & Bones BBQ’. The house speciality is a 150 day grain fed Tomahawk that weighs in at around 1.5kg. Or, you can create your own Surf & Turf feast. Just let the villa manager know what you’d like and we’ll prepare it for you. The price is based on guest selec on, weight and market price.

Shoes: In Thailand it is respec ul and customary to take off your shoes before entering a home. We would be grateful if you do this when entering the villa. And besides, you are on holiday so there’s no need to wear shoes. Cleaning: The staff clean the bedrooms daily and change sheets and towels twice a week. They wash up a er breakfast and make sure the villa and gardens are dy at all mes. Laundry : If you have any laundry please present to our staff and they will be happy to take care of it for a small fee. Please allow for drying mes, especially in wet season. Toiletries : In the bathrooms you will find complimentary soap, shower gel and shampoo for use during your stay. All our products are natural and sourced from Samui island. Bath Robes, Slippers & Umbrellas : In each wardrobe there is a pair of bath robes, slippers and an umbrella for use during your stay. If you would like to purchase any of these please ask the villa manager. Water : We know every hotel in the world says this, but in Samui water really is in short supply, so please be conscious of your usage. At the villa we catch every drop of rain water and filter it for re-usage. If it doesn’t rain (and some mes it doesn’t for several months) we have water delivered by truck and in dry season the demand for trucks means there is o en a long wait for delivery. So we (and Samui) thank you in advance for not leaving taps running or reques ng laundered towels every day. Electric : The same goes for power as water. The island is developing at a rapid rate and unfortunately the u li es and infra-structure are lagging behind. Power cuts are frequent from the overload of new development. In the case of a cut in power we have fresh right to provide Please don’t waste energy by leaving lights on in unoccupied rooms. Air Condi oning : Normally 24 degrees on cool se ng is perfect. Please don’t run the AC with the doors or windows open. This results in the AC cooling fluids running dry and the room never ge ng cold. For an icy cool room shut all doors and windows before turning on the AC. And please switch off the AC when you leave the room. Swimming Pool : The swimming pool is cleaned twice weekly by outside technicians. The cleaning me is 7.30am in order not to disturb guests.
Pool Safety : Whilst we want you to have fun, please refrain from dangerous ac vity such as jumping from the top terrace or climbing/jumping off the infinity edge. To avoid accidents inflatables are not permi ed. Please supervise children constantly. The villa owners accept no responsibility for any injuries sustained whilst using the pool The pool deck is a rough cut stonewash and not slippy, but the usual precau ons about running on wet floors apply. Be extra careful when walking on terrazzo floors (kitchen, pool lounge and bedrooms) when wet as the surface can get slippy. And please do not sit on the interior furnishings such as in the pool lounge when wet or wearing sun creams. Yoga : Like Muay, many people come to Samui to prac ce yoga. A personal yoga class can be arranged at the villa, either around the pool or in the gym or garden with a fully qualified and experienced instructor. The trainer will charge for their me and service on an hourly rate. Golf : The Royal Samui Golf and Country Club is just 5 minutes from the villa. It’s a amazingly scenic 9 hole course set on top of the mountain providing stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand. For booking - h p://www.rsgcc.co.th San buri Samui Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole championship course that is featured on the PGA Asian tour. It is around 30 minutes from the villa. All informa on can be found here h p://www.san burisamui.com/gol Massage : A range of healthy and holis c treatments are available, performed by our 5 star trained massage therapist in the villa spa. Speciali es include Thai, herbal compress, aromatherapy and de-stress muscle release massage. A full list of treatments and prices are in this guide. Shopping : Central Fes val Chaweng is the biggest shopping plaza in samui and is only 15 minutes by car. The open air plaza has many restaurants, a supermarket, shop and amusements including a cinema. Street Market : The biggest is on Friday evenings at fisherman's village and starts from 5pm.stalls sell food, drinks and souvenirs. If you miss it, it moves to Lamai on Sunday and Mae Nam on Thursday. There is a permanent food market every night in chaweng. It is on the road parallel to the beach road besides the lake.
Restaurant recommends : There is an amazing choice of food available on the island from simple, tasty, street food to gourmet cuisine. Here are a few favorites. Peppina : Italian restaurant by sea at the wharf in fisherman's village. Spago : Italian restaurant in the heart of Chaweng for pasta, pizza and grills. Galanga : Thai food and more . Ideal for families as there is a playroom. Chaweng. Jahn : Fine Thai dining in Taling Nahm at The Conrad's Jahn restaurant. Zazen : Thai and Interna onal food in a roman c atmosphere - www.samuizazen.com / bestrestaurantssamui.html Hard Rock Café : Burgers and all things American in Chaweng – www.hardrock.com / cafes/koh-samui / The Jungle club - 7 to 10 min away.. you can have dinner there. It's got a great view of Koh Samui. Get their early as they shut down early. Dr. Frogs - 1 min away. Italian/ Thai.. Great place for dinner as well as lunch. Has similar views as the Villa. The Cliff Bar and Grill Italian - 2 min away. Nice place for lunch Vai Vai - Chewang Street Italian food. Lunch will be a good idea here. Great Pizzas Khau Saan - Chewang. Casual, but great quality thai food. (Close to solo bar, in the beginning of chewing) Pepenero - High quality Italian food. Rated one of the best. No views though. Coco Tam - Fisherman's village. Italian and fusion food. You can also lie down on the bean bags on the beach and have your drinks and snacks there. Fresh seafood restaurants are plen ful on the south and north shores of the island . At Thong krut ( south ) look for Green Talay and Gingprakarang . In the north at bang por seek out Bang Po Seafood restaurant. Brewpub : Samui has its own brewery making tasty cra beers .All beers are organic and made by the owner, Jim in the pub. If you are into ales it's an enjoyable place to go and chat with the owner whilst sampling the beer. You can also order food local restaurants and eat in the bar for no cover charge .Men on you are a guest of 180 samui and Jim will give you a free taster glass on us .The pub is called The bees knees and is on the lake road in Chaweng which is only 10 minutes from the villa. h p;//www.samuibrew.pub. Beaches : The en re island is ringed with beau ful beaches (way too many to list here), but here are few of the closest or most famous.
Chaweng Noi : Is the nearest beach and is only 5 minutes by car at the bo om of the hills. There is free parking at The Beach bar – turn right on the ring road and it's immediately on the le where you see the sign. There are a few ea ng and drinking op ons and water sports along the beach. The sand is white and the water clear and it doesn't get too crowded .The Beach bar stays open late and hosts top Djs. Coral coves : Is just past the beach bar in the same direc on .Take the ring road for a couple of minutes and a small track on the le is the entrance to a Coral Cove .This is the beach the villa overlooks. It's an ideal spot for snorkeling and there's a great view looking back at the villa on the mountain. Crystal Bay / Silver sands : Is the just a li le further along the ring road. The beach's name(s) is taken from two of the resort on the beach and no one seems to agree which one it is! It's a lovely beach nonetheless with giant boulders, white sand and clear water. Lamai Beach : Is approximately 5 more minutes along the ring road (turn le at MacDonald's sign) .The beach is around 5km long and popular with families. Chaweng Beach : Is close to the villa but in the opposite direc on to lamai. Just turn le on the ring road and follow the signs. The beach is over 6km in length has white sand and is the most popular on the island .At the northern p the sea is shallow due to a small reef offshore whereas the southern end tends to get some great waves. The en re beach is lined with hotels and resorts so there is no shortage of places eat and drink. Choeng Mon : Beach is 10 minutes from Chaweng in a northerly direc on. it's a lovely beach , quieter than Chaweng , and especially nice at sunset . In this area there are couple of beaches / coves worth seeking out too – Tong Son Bay and Samrong Bay.They are signposted, but not that easy to fine without a map. Taling Nam : And Lips Noi beaches are on the west coast and perfect for sunset. They call this area the virgin coast because it is s ll quiet and rela vely undeveloped. It takes around 30-40 minutes to get there and is a pleasant drive. The inter –con nental is on Taling Nam beach and nikki beach is on Lipa Noi so great cocktails and meals are easy to find. There are also some small Thai places in the area that have sunset happy hours and cheap food. Temples : Buddhism is the dominant religion in Thailand and there are several temples or 'Wat' on samui. Most welcome visitors but please be respec ul at the all mes and don't visit wearing inappropriate clothing such as bikinis or beach wear. Big Buddha Temple : Wat Phra Yai is the most important temple in Sumai and one of the most visited a rac ons in Samui. The golden, 12 metre high, seated Buddha sits majes cally on a small rocky island named Kon Faan loca on just north of Bophut , off Koh Samui 's northern corner. Wat Plai Laem : Features a striking white, 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of mercy and Compassion in Chinese Buddhism. Close to the big Buddha temple, Wat plai Laem offers visitors a view into Chinese – Thai beliefs as well as some elaborate Buddhist art and architecture. Adding to its feel of tranquility, the temple is surrounded by a lake, which is teeming with fish. Visitors who make a small Dona on to the temple are given a bag of food to feed the fish.
Secret Buddha Garden : Is hidden away high in the hills in Koh Samuai's interior , offering majes c view and an unusual collec on of statues amid lush jungle surrounds .Not technically a temple , the gardens are a crea on of an old Samui fruit farmer who in 1976 began erec ng several statues and temples around his family's land . Situated to the north-west of Lamai Beach ge ng up there is a challenge best done in a 4WD vehicle. Many visitors choose to come here on a day trip that includes a tour of the gardens. Wat Khunaram : Is famous due to the fact it hosts the mummified remains of a monk, luong pordaeng, who died in 1973. The mummy is presented in a seated medita ve posi on and, remarkably, even more than 40 years on the monk's body shows li le sign of decay. Aside from the mummified monk, the temple is fairly typical and a place where local people come daily to make merit and pray. Visitors are welcome to join or observe the daily rituals and have a look around. Hin Lad Waterfall temple : Is set in an evergreen tropical jungle just before the trail up to the famous Hin Lad Waterfall , a few kilometers south of Nathon Town. The temple is open all year round but the waterfall is best visited during rainy season so you can take a dip in the large and small freshwater pools .Bring along bo le of water and a good pair of walking shoes as the hike up to the fall will take about 20-30 minutes. WATERFALLS : There are four waterfalls on the island worth men oning. NaMauang : 1 is 18 meters high and can easily be reached by foot or vehicle. NaMauang : 2 is 80 meters high and can only be reached by 30 – minute walk .Both of these waterfalls boast some of the most scenic views on the island . Whilst visi ng Namuang's waterfalls, you should explore the coast of Samui's central peak and are near each other, therefore it is easy to visit both waterfalls on the same day. Wang Sao Thong : Only really has enough of a water flow to classify it as a waterfall at the height of the rainy season, but it provides un-paralleled beauty and tranquility to those who like to stray off the beaten track .It 's located just 2 kms south –east from Namuang 2 waterfall. Hin Lad Waterfall ( and the nearby Wat Namtok temple ) provides one of the most peaceful and reflec ve areas on Kon Samui .The falls are located 3 kilometers south of Na on town ; the jungle trail that leads you to them is a steady 30 –minute walk . With several levels and freshwater pool at the bo om, hin Lad is a secluded haven where you can swim , relax and enjoy a picnic in peace and tranquility.
