Last session you learned about who I am TODAY.
However, I didn’t just arrive here. Life has been a process.
While I am living my dreams now, a decade ago I was
simply dreaming……….
                          HARLEM
What happens to a dream deferred?
                          Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
                      Or fester like a sore—
                          And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
                    Or crust and sugar over—
                       like a syrupy sweet?
                        Maybe it just sags
                        like a heavy load.
                                                               6
                       Or does it explode?

Who am I (A Decade Earlier):
I am Cyndi Weekes Bradley. A mother of over
thousands of students and 3 of my own,
struggling to achieve a work life balance,
stretched too far, living paycheck to paycheck,
giving everything and everyone 110%, over
achiever, wanting to save the world, learning
how to say “NO”, disappointed that the work is
so hard and isolated, Boston Principal Fellow,
Dean, AP, Principal, lover of family including my
extended family and pets, plus an optimistic
person that is hopeful that it’ll all work itself out
if I just keep going. My unique lived experiences 7

have landed me here in front of you today.

Alexander Den Heijer put it this
way “when a flower doesn't bloom • Introductions
you fix the environment in which • Watch
it grows, not the flower”. And so it
is important to think about the • Thoughts

    “But don’t all lives matter?”

That’s what you say when asked,
    “Well don’t my life matter?”

That’s what you say when asked,
    “Don’t blue lives matter most?”
Well actually, not…. First say, “No
one is the shade of blue”.
