With everything offered at SEESA, it’s hard to know what Class to take or which Club to join
Classes require an instructor and members need to register for each class they take. The instructors
are qualified in their trade and have special skills that allow them to lead a class that results in
members achieving a set goal. SEESA in return charges our members a set session fee to cover the
cost of the instructors for the class they offer.
Clubs on the other hand are created for fun and socializing. They are run by our members who act as
the Activity Liaisons. Members who join a club don’t need to formally register but instead pay $2 every
time they want to attend. You must be a SEESA member to join our clubs.

Please ensure you check with your doctor prior to starting any type of exercise program.
                                                                                                     5

Don’t forget to FOB into MySeniorCentre every time you are in the building. Whether you are attending a
class, a club, volunteering, or just coming for coffee or lunch, we need you to record your time while
you’re here. When we apply for grants and other funding, our funders want to know the statistics
around how many people attend our centre and what they do while they are here. When you FOB in, we
utilize the numbers from MySeniorCentre. When you don’t FOB in, we manually have to count each
class and each member that attends. This takes hours. So please help us out by ensuring you do your
part and FOB into MySeniorCentre each time you are in the building. We thank you!

                                                                                                             19

rights and safety, learning, volunteering, and social interaction. If you have concerns in any of these
areas for yourself, a friend, or neighbour, please feel free to contact us. SEESA membership is NOT

Grief Recovery Method
The action program for moving beyond death, divorce, and other losses. Your feelings are normal
and natural. The problem is that we have been socialized to believe that these feelings are abnormal
     and unnatural.
     Myths about grief:
Time heals all wounds; Replace the loss; Grieve alone; Be strong for others; Bury your feelings
People say you have to let go and move on in your life, but they don’t tell you what you need to do to
accomplish that. The Grief Recovery Method® Outreach Program not only makes that possible, but
provides partnerships and guidance to ensure that it happens.
