in the pursuit of delivering your dream day.
Melton Estate is a boutique winery offering multiple indoor and outdoor celebration spaces. With breathtaking
views over our working vineyard, we have the flexibility, versatility and proven expertise to tailor your wedding
arrangements to suit every vision.
Our architecturally designed wedding chapel, The Pavilion, has a capacity of 150 for wedding ceremonies and
has been purposely designed for all weather weddings and celebrations. Our main indoor wedding area,
The Banquet Room, with adjoining Courtyard Room, can accommodate 150 guests for a seated dinner service.
Well known for its striking beauty, wedding photography amongst our sheltered gardens, expansive lawns and
lush vineyard promises to be stunning. Our new Games Lawn is the perfect place to entertain your guests.
Melton Estate is home to the acclaimed “Summer Love” sparkling, Canterbury’s celebration wine, and
“Meltonia” a new Methode Traditionnelle, to ensure your wedding ‘sparkles’, as well as a full range of award-
winning wines, to treat the palate of your family and friends.
Just 15 minute’s drive west from Christchurch International Airport, Melton Estate is conveniently located in a
quiet rural setting, with plenty of off-street parking for guests. We can help arrange transport options.
Melton Estate is Canterbury’s only Qualmark rated winery wedding venue, with a four-star-plus rating and a
silver sustainable award.
If small and intimate is your vision, we have many options to suit. Hosting weddings all year, each season brings
its own unique look and feel - sunshine, warm breezes and shimmering grapevines in the warmer months and
roaring fires and cozy indulgence through the cooler times.

We offer a full service wedding package
• Exclusive use of Melton Estate for your wedding, including The Pavilion and Games Lawn
• All in-door and outdoor dedicated wedding spaces, 12 acres of vineyards for photos and on-site parking
• Tracy – our on site wedding specialist and on the day coordinator. Available for all pre-planning and on
the day requirements, to ensure your day runs as planned
• Professional, friendly, and experienced staff to provide hospitality to you and your guests
• Tables, chairs, linen tablecloths and napkins, crockery, cutlery and glassware
• Post event cleaning (applies to ‘normal’ cleaning requirements)
• Use of Melton Estate background music and sound system for your music selection
• Wireless microphones and a lectern for speeches inside The Banquet Room
• Dedicated area for gifts, guest book, and tea and coffee service

Melton Estate combines incredible Canterbury country landscape, beautiful
boutique Canterbury wines, a modern winery building with multiple indoor /
outdoor dining and event spaces ~ all with friendly personal service.

The winery is set amongst 12 acres of vines, gardens, lawns and is the perfect location
for a relaxing wine or lunch, special occasion dinner, corporate meeting or conference,
wedding or family celebration.
At Melton Estate our award winning restaurant offers superb cuisine, featuring
local produce and our estate-grown award winning Canterbury wines.

WONDERFUL WINERY WEDDINGS
Thanks for your interest in Melton Estate for your wedding. We have been hosting weddings for 15 years and
its what we do well.
Planning your wedding is simple at Melton Estate. Once you have date mind let us confirm it for you straight
away to book you in. A Booking Fee of $850 (included in the Venue Hire below) is payable on confirming your
wedding date.
Our venue hire fee is as follows:
• Summer Venue Hire (October to April): $2,850
• Wine Venue Hire: (May to September): $1,850
YOUR WEDDING BUDGET
Once your Booking Fee is paid, your budget can be calculated as follows:
1. Balance of your Venue Hire Fee (payable 3 months after booking confirmation)
2. Food Service – select the meal service type (Table Service or Buffet) and Canapé / Platter options (payable
7 days prior to your wedding date). For children, see our Restaurant Kid’s Menu.
3. Beverage Service – all beverages are on a consumption basis. Plan for a budget of around $45pp (payable
at the conclusion of your wedding). The special winery direct beverage pricing attached is for wedding bar
tabs. Cash sales are at our restaurant prices.
For items such as a celebrant, cake, cars, music, etc, I will supply a list of suppliers we have enjoyed working
with. Please book with external suppliers directly.

At Melton Estate we pride ourselves in the offering award-winning boutique wines. The
“Summer Love” Sparkling is our speciality wedding wine, and now the new “Meltonia”
Méthode Traditionnelle is a fantastic wine for the wedding toast.
For our valued wedding customers, the wine is available at reduced winery direct prices. Our
wedding beverages prices apply only when a bar tab is operating. We are unable to operate a
cash bar and a bar tab at the same time.
All wines and particular vintages are subject to availability.

Ripe Riesling provides crisp fruit flavours and a touch of Pinot Noir adds the
distinctive pink colour. Summer Love has an exciting spritz and is the perfect
celebration wine for all occasions. Our most popular wine for weddings.
Melton Estate “Meltonia” Méthode Traditionnelle 40
Meltonia is a cuvée of estate-grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and
Pinot Meunier. The grapes were hand-picked by friends and family, then a careful
two-year ferment commenced. The long wait was worth it.
Melton Estate Sauvignon Blanc 33
Aromas of tropical passionfruit and pineapple on the nose. Herbaceous characters of
nettle and fresh cut grass. Fresh juicy acidity on the palate.
Melton Estate Pinot Gris 33
Tastes of pear drops, nectarine and citrus with hint of honey on the nose. The palate
has white peach, ginger and fine citrus with a lively texture.
Melton Estate Pinot Rosé 33
Aromatics of strawberries on the nose. A fresh palate and fruit-driven intensity
derived from Pinot Noir grapes.
Melton Estate Riesling 33
A dry aromatic style which displays hints of lime and honey. A crisp clean wine with
length and elegance. Classic Canterbury Riesling.
Melton Estate Chardonnay 35
Lightly oaked in barrel to allow the fruit to fully express its appeal. Butterscotch
notes over golden fruit tones will appeal.
Melton Estate Pinot Noir 37
Aged in French oak for 12 months. Cherry, red currents, strawberries with a touch
of spice, smoke and a hint of violets. Fresh and vibrant.You can also read
