Nga Taonga Takaro - Traditional Maori Games
The Coach House Museum, 121 South Street, Feilding
Knucklebones, poi, and stick games are among hands-on exhibits in Nga Taonga Takaro – Traditional
Maori Games. A new childrens’ display running through the school holidays at the museum until the end of
February. The museum’s central display area is devoted to an area where children (and their parents), can
explore games of a Maori childhood, and in most instances test their skills by having a go. Pick a date and
head along! Normal entry fee applies.

Gravel and Tar
Memorial Park, Main Street, Palmerston North
The Gravel and Tar Classic is a team-based cycling race for elite New Zealand National and International
riders. It is 140km in length and will be held in the roads of the Manawatu region encompassing both
sealed and unsealed (gravel) roads, roughly 40% of which is on gravel roads. Palmerston North City Council
will host the finish line event down at Memorial Park. There will be live music, awesome competitions, food
trucks, bouncy castles, face painting and more. Free entry, the more the merrier, bring everyone down to
this family-friendly event.

Family Fun Ride - Free
Manawatu Riverbank Victoria Esplanade, Palmerston North
This is a fun ride for families along the Manawatu Riverbank Pathway. Families may enter at any point
along the pathway from Linton to Ruahine Street and finish at Memorial Park where there will be heaps of
entertainment including: live music, food stalls, jumping castles, face-painting and other children's
entertainment. Families are encouraged to enter the pathway at any time from 10:00am and must arrive at
Memorial Park by 12.30pm as the cyclists in the Gravel and Tar events will start finishing around 1:00pm.
