2018 Conditions of Entry – Seniors Tournament
• The tournament Committee has entire control and management of the tournament.
• Once the draw is made there will be no refunds for late withdrawals or washouts.
• The tournament is conducted under the rules and regulations laid down in the ITF Rules of
Tennis.
• All Players must be financially registered with Tennis NSW.
• All players must be members of a Tennis Seniors Association. Registration forms are available
from the Tennis Seniors NSW website or at the registration desk during the tournament. If not a
member, membership is free up until 30 June 2019.
• All competitors must submit the entry form at page 5 to be eligible to play.
• Fees must be paid before your first match.
• Acceptance of late entries will be at Tournament Directors Discretion.
• All events will be played as a round robin format.
• All matches will be First to 6, tie break at 5 all except for the American doubles which will be
best of 8 games, tie break at 4 all. The Committee may vary the format of play for any event if
weather conditions warrant such action.
• Winners for all events will be determined by sets won, if equal then games and if needed a
count back.
• Players must be the respective age by 31st December 2018.
• The Committee reserves the right to transfer entries to a younger age group or combine events
as required.
• All players must be correctly dressed in recognised tennis attire and only tennis shoes shall be
worn.
• Players can only participate in one event per session.
• The Committee will try, without obligation, to find partners for doubles events if requested.
• The draw will be available at NBTC from Lunchtime on Thursday 29 Nov 18.Additional Information

Niagara Therapy on site all weekend: Are your aches & pains affecting your serve, backhand or
volley? Are your elbows, back, knees or shoulders taking the enjoyment out of your game? Therapy
sessions will be available during the tournament.
Just pop in & say hello to Maryanne from Niagara Therapy proud suppliers of recovery & rehabilitation
equipment to the Australian Institute of Sport, Geelong Cats, Fremantle Dockers, Brisbane Broncos and
South Sydney Rabbitohs as well as many other sporting organisations.
Hot Breakfast: A cooked to order hot breakfast will be available at Nelson Bay Tennis Club from 6.30am
each day. Cost is $10 per person.
American Doubles Format: No set doubles partner. Sets will be best of 8 games with a tie break at 4 all.
You will play one set with each person in your pool up to a maximum of 4 matches per person.
Individual scores are tallied and the person with the highest individual score is declared the winner.
Maximum 5 players per pool.
Event 18: This is the signature event of the tournament and is for the Dave Matthews Perpetual Trophy.
Two groups will compete in this event with the Group winners playing off for the perpetual trophy.
Friday Afternoon: Commencing at approx. 5pm there will be a Mens doubles exhibition Match at
Nelson Bay Tennis Club. All players, their families and visitors are invited to join us for nibbles and
drinks from 4.30pm. Soft drinks, coffee and tea will be available in the Club House. The Club will
provide complimentary biscuits, cheese and savoury snacks.
Sale of Alcohol: It is anticipated that Alcohol will be available for sale pending temporary liquor license
approval.

Electronic Payment Ref:CHARITY DAY Entry Form As a lead into the Dave Matthews Seniors Tournament, Nelson Bay Tennis Club will be hosting a Charity Tennis Day at the Nelson Bay Complex. All proceeds raised on the day will be donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association NSW. Motor Neurone disease is a terminal illness where people progressively lose use of their limbs and their ability to move, speak, breathe and swallow. The mind and senses usually remain intact. There is no known cause or cure for the disease, which has an average life expectancy of two-and-a-half years. More than 2000 people have the disease in Australia. Format will be Mens and Ladies Doubles. First to 6, tie break at 5 all. Enter as a pair or individually. Due to court and time restrictions we can only accept 40 pairs so enter early to avoid missing out.
