Mike is looking for a versatile bike for
his 16 year old daughter Sasha. Sasha
uses her bike to get to the park nearby
where she works as a lifeguard. She also
sometimes bikes around the
neighborhood for exercise or and on
weekends the family take their bikes
trail riding. Because Sasha uses the
bike so much, Mike is ready to invest in
a good bike. A lightweight bike would be
a plus.

2,3 Bike 2 is a hybrid bike, so Bike 3 is a mountain bike Bike 3 would not do as
it is versatile and it will do and would do well on well on paved surfaces as
well on the paved roads trails. a hybrid bike; it is more
                  of the neighborhood as expensive.

Jordan is on a basketball team, but she
already has special shoes for basketball
practices and games. She is looking for a
pair of shoes she can wear at other
times so her basketball shoes don’t get
worn out being used for other things.
She would prefer a shoe that works for
different activities, like walking or
jogging with her mom, playing Frisbee
with her friends, or for just wearing with
everyday clothes. Jordan has planned to
spend no more than $85 on this
purchase. She prefers shoes with some
ventilation and she also prefers darker
colored shoes so that they show dirt
less.

Frozen Meals

Taylor is hungry for lunch but doesn’t
have time to cook. Her parents have
several frozen meals in the freezer that
she can choose from for a quick lunch,
but she wants to make a healthy choice.
She is most concerned with keeping her
saturated fat and sodium intake low,
because she knows heart disease runs
in her family. She also wants to try to cut
down on her added sugar intake and
knows that frozen meals are sometimes
high in added sugars.

Taylor’s top priorities are saturated fat and sodium. Taylor’s second priority is added sugar.

4 over 2 because 4 is lower in saturated fat and sodium than 2. 2 is lower in sugar than 4, but that
is a second priority to saturated fat and sodium.

2 over 3 because 2 is lower in saturated fat and sugar than 3. Even though 3 is a little lower in
sodium than 2, the sodium contents are very similar.

3 over 1 because 3 is lower in saturated fat and sodium than 1. 1 is lower in sugar than 3, but that
is a second priority to saturated fat and sodium.

Cell Phone Plans
            Practice Class
Anthony’s son is turning 14 in two weeks. All he
wants for his birthday is a cell phone. He has
recently upgraded his smart phone, so he is passing
down his older smartphone to him. He is shopping
around for a new cell phone plan for his son to use
with his former phone. He knows that texting is one
of the main ways he communicates with his son so
unlimited texting would be ideal. Also, his son
travels a fair amount to 4-H and sports activities
throughout the state, so a carrier with reception all
throughout Georgia is necessary. Occasionally, he
uses his cell phone for internet research, Zoom
meetings, school assignments, email, and other apps
that require the internet. He would like to keep the
budget for the phone plan under $20 monthly and
would like to avoid activation charges.
