from the world of diamonds: the Wempe | Ashoka® line. Inspired by New York City, the home of this cut, these

Literally translated, “ashoka” means “ending sorrow.” Diamonds in the cut of the same name are among the most
unusual gemstones of their kind. Wempe is launching this special cut, which was developed by the renowned
New York diamond dealer William Goldberg, in two extraordinary lines: Art Déco and Cube. The special
Ashoka® cut makes a diamond appear 30 percent larger than an emerald-cut diamond of the same carat weight.
The cut is set off to perfection by the clear, abstract design idiom of the Art Déco line as well as the bold Cubist
geometry of the Cube line. It lends these pieces of jewelry a timelessly modern flair with vintage appeal. The
centerpiece of the line, which was conceived by Wempe’s Creative Director Catherine Plouchard, is a necklace
consisting of 146 Ashoka®-cut diamonds with a combined weight of nearly 65 carats. It’s a true showstopper
that is nonetheless the essence of purism.

is already indicated in the name. The watch was conceived in cooperation with renowned German musical artist
