**What is a “copywork notebook & journal,” and how
do I use it in my child’s education?
Copywork and journaling are fun ways for your children to learn spelling,
grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, and penmanship. It’s also a wonderful
tool for memorization skills!
On each page, you will find a Bible scripture passage followed by thought
provoking questions to help your student dig deeper and understand many
of the “talking points,” found in Apologia Worldview: Who is God? And Can I
Really Know Him? Volume 1, series book.
Teacher’s Guide:

Volume 1, is wonderfully filled with wisdom and creation confirmation. All of
the scripture passages, and many of the thought provoking questions can be
found within each lesson of John Hay and David Webb’s textbook, by Apologia
Ministries. Also, you will find many other support websites, where you may
want to go for extra information, coloring pages, games, crafts, and ideas to
extend your studies within this amazing book.

Inside this book, you will find 112 copywork and journal lessons, which
accompany Apologia Ministries Who is God, And Can I Really Know Him?
Volume 1, book. Each lesson contains a great deal of information, which is
formatted to be used alone, but works together with Who is God, And Can I
Really Know Him, Volume 1, textbook.
Herein is a sample of how you can experience the copywork notebook and
journal with your child.
Set aside time each day to complete two or three of the Bible copywork verses.
By copying the Bible passages children learn many areas of Language Arts.
Children have the opportunity to be exposed to great writers or historical events,
while learning Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar, Vocabulary, and Creative
Writing from the Bible and other important historical figures. Most Classical
Education programs recommend copywork and journaling as an intricate part
of educating your children.
Bible verses are taken primarily from the New International Version (NIV),
although a number of translations are employed for the sake of clarity to include
the following: Contemporary Version Bible (CVB), English Standard Version
(ESV), International Children’s Bible (ICB), New American Standard Bible
(NASB), New Century Version (NCV), New King James Version (NKJV), New
Living Translation (NLT), and New Revised Standard Version Bible (NRSVB).
5By copying 2-3 passages from the Bible and responding to 2-3 questions per
week, your child will commit to memory, some of the most important scriptures
in the Bible and quotes from important historical figures. While penmanship is
important, the knowledge that they are gaining through copywork and journal
responses are valuable in their learning.
However, do encourage your children to take pride in their penmanship. Also,
instruct them in the importance of the “art” of Spelling, Punctuation, Vocabulary,
Grammar, and Creative Writing while copywork notebooking or journaling.
With practice, your children will begin to “imitate” these into their own personal
writing.

We’re all called to be ministers of Christ in the world. These days, more and
more people who are non-ordained leaders are finding themselves drawn
towards missions locally and abroad. Many are like you and I, school teachers,
social workers, theologians, writers, mom’s, dad’s, student’s, and still others
work as ministers or priests. As you can see, the Holy Spirit inspires so many
people, in so many areas of life. You too are a part of this ministry.
