DOCUMENT INFORMATION 2.1 Description The information in this document, on apple cider vinegar (ACV) is taken from various internet and book sources and is provided in this summarized format for easy reading.

2.2 Objectives Provide general information about, and on the use of, apple cider vinegar. 2.3 Suggested Users Any person desiring to increase their knowledge about apple cider vinegar as they make choices for their individual nutrition needs/requirements.

One 80 Turn, LLC 4 DOCUMENT CONTENT 3.1 Real Apple Cider Vinegar The apple cider vinegar (ACV) that contains all of the health benefits is not clear vinegar, but just the opposite. It is the organic and unfiltered vinegar. It is not a clear liquid, but has got a brownish tinge to it. If you try looking through it, you will notice a tiny cobweb-like substance floating in it. This is known as "mother", and means just one thing. This apple cider vinegar is of good quality with all the nutrients and health giving properties intact.

Just think. Would you buy vinegar from the supermarket that is not clear, has got a brown tinge to it, and most of all you find something floating in it? In all likelihood you will not buy this.

This is the prime reason why manufacturers distil the vinegar. The pure vinegar is steamed to get the sparking clear vinegar that is available at the supermarket. This steaming process destroys almost all of the health giving nutrients. What it does do is give the vinegar an excellent eye appeal. The brands that are organic and unfiltered are Bragg and Spectrum (there are also other brands available at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods). One or both of these brands can be found in any health food store. They can also be purchased in the local grocery (in the Nashville, TN area) at Kroger in the organic food section and at Publix.

The cost is approximately $4.00 a bottle. ... 3.2 Health Benefits Apple cider vinegar is made from fresh ripe apples that are fermented and undergo a stringent process to create the final product. It is obtained from the fermentation of apple juice. The fermentation provides alcoholic apple cider that is combined with oxygen to produce acetic acid. The pH of apple cider vinegar is very beneficial for the body and it is a safe supplement, even for children. There are no known side effects resulting from using it.

Apple cider vinegar is quite rich in minerals, vitamins and other substances. It contains vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin, A, vitamin P, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and vitamin B6. ACV also has a lot of beneficial minerals like manganese, iron, calcium, sodium, magnesium, sulfur, copper, phosphorus, silicon, chlorine and fluorine. ACV provides enzymes, amino acids, potash, alcoholic acids, and apple pectin. Apple pectin is a dietary fiber that is an essential component of a healthy diet. Pectin in the vinegar is a fiber which helps reduce bad cholesterol and helps in regulating blood pressure. The need for calcium supplements once you start growing older is very well known.

This vinegar helps extract calcium from the fruits, vegetables and meat it is mixed with, helping in the process of maintaining strong bones.

One 80 Turn, LLC 5 Potassium deficiency causes a variety of ailments including hair loss, weak finger nails, brittle teeth, sinusitis, and a permanently running nose. Apple cider vinegar is loaded with potassium. Studies have shown that potassium deficiency results in stunted growth. All these ailments can be avoided with the intake of apple cider vinegar. The potassium in this vinegar also helps in eliminating toxic waste from the body. The beta-carotene helps in countering damage caused by free radicals, helping one maintain firmer skin and a youthful appearance. Apple cider vinegar is good for those wanting to lose weight.

It helps in breaking down fat which helps in natural weight reduction.

Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid which is very helpful in fighting fungal and bacterial infections. This acid dissolves uric acid deposits that form around joints, helping relieve joint pains. This dissolved uric acid is gradually eliminated from the body. It is claimed that apple cider vinegar is helpful in ailments such as constipation, headaches, arthritis, weak bones, indigestion, high cholesterol, diarrhea, eczema, sore eyes, chronic fatigue, mild food poisoning, hair loss, high blood pressure, obesity, along with a host of many other ailments. 3.3 Consumption The “popular standard” for consumption is: -2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar -16 ounces of water Sip, don't chug! Suggest 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in 16 ounces of water that you'll sip throughout the day, rather than drinking the whole concoction at once 3 times a day.

You will be keeping your pH in a constant, alkalized state by sipping this highly diluted dosage. Usually one tall glass of the concoction is all you'll need each day.

If you drink a lot of water throughout the day, consider adding just a splash of apple cider vinegar to your glass/container each time you fill it up, rather than drinking the one, 16 oz glass of ACV and water mentioned above. For more severe conditions, the recommendation is 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water 3 times a day. ATHLETIC USES Athlete’s Foot: Athlete's foot is a fungal infection which is quite difficult to get rid of. One of the best remedies involves soaking the feet twice a day in a 50/50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and water, or, applying pure apple cider vinegar to the affected areas two times a day and before bedtime using cotton balls.

Allow your feet to dry before putting shoes or socks on. This may sting a little, but you should see relief in about a week. Make sure that you never reuse the apple cider vinegar after it has come in contact with the area that you are treating.

Body Odor: Use apple cider vinegar as a natural body deodorant and eliminate the bacteria causing offensive body odor that comes from heavy perspiration. Underarms can be kept free of odor causing bacteria by wiping them once a day with undiluted apple cider vinegar whereas foot odor can be greatly minimized by soaking the feet two or three times weekly in a pan of warm water mixed with 1/3 cup of apple cider vingar. Bruises: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of salt in ½ cup of warm apple cider vinegar and apply it to the bruise as a compress.

3.4 Apple Cider Vinegar Testimonials

One 80 Turn, LLC 6 ACNE Elaine from Pueblo, CO, USA: "I'm 26 and have never had problems with acne until about 6 months ago.

I broke out on my cheeks and my chest. I have tried everything and even went to the dermatologist. He prescribed me Retin-A and an antibacterial face wash. Neither has helped at all. A couple weeks ago I read about apple cider vinegar and started using it every morning and night on my face. I wash my face with an organic face wash, then use a cotton ball to apply ACV to my face. I let it dry for about 5-6 minutes then I apply a moisturizer. Make sure to moisturize afterwards or it will really dry your skin. I also have been drinking a splash of ACV mixed with water daily. I can't believe how good my skin looks.

The acne is almost completely gone, replaced by a healthy glow. I would recommend this to anyone with acne problems. It really is amazing." Holly from Portland, OR, USA: "Acne: Apple Cider Vinegar. CURED my non-inflammatory acne much, much better than Retin-A!! I have a prescription for Retin-A, and have been taking it for months. It smells and I know it's bad for your skin as far as sun damage goes, so I've never used it on my face, where...for the last few years, I've had small under the skin bumps that are sort of annoying. I thought others were exaggerating on overnight success...but I kid you not, I dipped a cotton swab in ACV and ran it over the area, went to bed, woke up...excited to see the results, ran my fingers over bottom smooth! Incredible! You smell a little funky, but it goes away in 2-3 minutes.

Trying to ingest it too to see the results, and will try it on my legs and arms where I also have these bumps. BLOOD PRESSURE Giovanna from San Jose, CA: "I have had high blood pressure for the last 2 years. Well I recently checked my blood pressure and it had soared to 188/98. Oh my goodness I freaked out. After reading these wonderful reviews I decided I have nothing to lose but high blood pressure. So I ordered organic ACV over the internet had it delivered to me and, after 2 days of taking 2 tablespoons of ACV and water I checked my blood pressure today and it was 111/84. Since I was in shock, I checked it again a half hour later and the exact same number came up again.

I am in total disbelief. I will continue to take ACV and check my BP again in a couple of days but I am so excited about this. Thanks so much for all these wonderful reviews. I am convinced that ACV does work. The numbers prove it ! " Marqueze from Nashville, TN: "Where do I begin...130/77 from 159/100 in 1 week...NO MEDS Just ACV twice a day, 2 tsp with water. I can't believe it like I really can't. I never buy into the internet crap because people lie but I am really telling you folks that it works. It’s nasty as heck but it works. My Dr. was like wow...No blood pressure meds only good ole ACV in me baby! Yes! Thank God for his creation.

I really think there are cures for everything right in the earth...We just have to keep researching and say screw the Dr.’s who charge us all the money for meds. Long live ACV!" Jana from Midlothian, VA: "Wow! I stumbled on this site to find a natural cure for high blood pressure. Mine has usually been 120/70 for years. It has steadily crept up. In July '08 my pressure spiked to 160/96. I was put on medication for 15 days and then was taken off after it returned to normal. I checked my blood pressure 11/20/08 and it was 176/101! I decided to try the ACV recipe of 2 TBS with 8 oz of water 3 times a day.

I also kept a bottle of water with me with 2 capfuls of vinegar. Today 11/24/08 I went to the same place to check my blood pressure and it was 127/82! Not bad for only 5 days! I plan to continue with this for the rest of my life. Thanks for all your posts and your help! " CHOLESTEROL Add fiber to your diet, especially water-soluble fiber - such as the pectin found in apple cider vinegar. Water-soluble fiber soaks up water, which adds bulk, and interacts with your body, and also keeps on working longer than non water-soluble fiber. Fiber also soaks up fats and cholesterol in the body and then is excreted instead of being reabsorbed.

Non water-soluble fiber soaks up moisture in the body, but cannot interact with the body. The amino acids contained in apple cider vinegar have also shown promise in neutralizing some of the harmful oxidized LDL cholesterol.

One 80 Turn, LLC 7 Charles from Philadelphia, PA: "ACV is a miracle remedy!! Eight weeks ago I was rushed to the hospital for chest pains and my blood pressure was up due to the anxiety created from the chest pains. After 2 days of testing in the hospital it was concluded that my cholesterol was borderline high. My total cholesterol was 239. I was told to take aspirin and given a prescription for some other popular medication, neither of which I took. I came across your site doing some research on natural remedies and now I am truly amazed at how ACV has working for me in only 7 weeks. My cholesterol came down from 239 to 175.

I started taking 2 tablespoons mixed with either cranberry or grape juice in the morning and the same at night. The juice helps with the bitter taste of the vinegar. I have had very little change in my diet, except for the fact that I no longer eat eggs! I have, however increased my activity to working out at least 3x's week. I am going to carefully watch my cholesterol and continue to drink the ACV and go back to my doctor in 2 months for another test." Luis from Brooklyn NY: "I have suffered from diabetes for several years. Several weeks ago I went to the doctor and they told me that my cholesterol was quite high 210.

I began taking ACV once a day 2 tablespoons a day. In about a months time my cholesterol went down to 160 and blood pressure to about 120/80.

Bea from Phillipsburg, NJ: "I began taking 2 tablespoons of ACV every day since February. I didn't change one other thing in my diet and my cholesterol dropped 46 points from 258 to 212. I was shocked and so was my doctor. I made her copy my blood work results so I have the paperwork to prove it!!!" WEIGHT LOSS John from East Peoria IL: "I truly do believe that ACV has helped me lose weight. I am now on a strict diet and exercise program but, the ACV helped me dramatically lose inches off of my waist. Also, for people like me who want to lose FAT and don't care so much about the number on the scale, it is my personal belief that the high acidic levels in the vinegar cause the enzymes in the fat cells to break down, therefore causing a loss in fat.

I love ACV! It tastes horrid at first but, after a while you truly do get used to it.” Amy from Chicago, IL: "Last summer, I was using apple cider vinegar on a daily basis to treat some persistent heartburn. I noticed that I lost about ten pounds over the course of six weeks. The change was so noticeable that my mother (who is usually quite critical of my weight) expressed concern that I had become too thin! By the winter, though, I had stopped taking the apple cider vinegar, and the weight had all come back. It never occurred to me that my weight loss had been due to the vinegar. Recently, I came across your website and decided to start drinking vinegar on a regular basis for overall health.

It's been two weeks, and I'm already down four pounds! I've noticed that I seem to crave "bad" foods much less, and I am satisfied with smaller portions. Maybe that's due to the apple cider vinegar, or maybe it's just psycho-somatic. Either way, I'm going to keep it up!

Here's how I take it: I mix two teaspoons of raw, organic apple cider vinegar into 1/4 cup of filtered water and add a teaspoon of agave. Sometimes I will heat the water slightly, other times I will just drink the mixture cold, which tastes a lot like lemonade. I have tried diluting the vinegar in eight ounces of water, but I actually enjoy the taste more when I use less water. I usually drink the mixture a couple hours after dinner, as a nightcap. I imagine that it is "sealing" my body for the night and doing all its magical work while I sleep." Angel from Navarre, FL: "Here is an update on my weight ...I began June 5 at 181 pounds.

Today after church June 28 I LOST 7 POUNDS. WHAM. June 19 is my next weight in...As I said I put my ACV in a huge bottle/glass/jug and drink it all day. I exercise and I still eat what I usually eat BUT I LOST 7 POUNDS...see you all next month" 3.5 Sources 1. 2.
