career high of number 1009 in singles and 822 in doubles,
out of approximately 9 000 registered ATP players worldwide.

Moving on from his successful career as a tennis player,
he qualified as a South African coach in 2009. Following
this, he pursued his dreams to enhance his coaching
career and became a Pro Coach in 2011. But, he was
not going to stop there. A short 3 years later, in 2014,
he qualified as a GPTCA Level C International coach.

In his coaching career, he has coached at the Sutton
Tennis Academy in the United Kingdom, at New
Canaan Country Club in Connecticut in New York, as
well as at the high performance centre in Pretoria.
What’s more, he has worked with some of the best
in the industry where he teamed up with previous
Davis Cup captain, John-Lafnie De Dager, to coach
some of the top junior players in South Africa.

It was after this, in 2012, that coach van Rensburg
decided to make a life in South Africa where he started
his own tennis academy, today known as Blessed
Tennis Academy. This academy is currently based in
Waterfall however, he also coaches at Reddam House,
St Peter’s College, Reddford House, Blue Hills Estate,
Crowthorne and Carlswald Luxury apartments.

Boasting a list of great achievements and strong
experience in the tennis arena, van Rensburg is set to take
South African tennis to new levels. In fact, he and his team
have recently returned from competing in the Southern
African Junior Championships in Gaborone (5 January
- 17 January 2018) where they achieved phenomenal
results. The under-16 girls and boys both won their
individual events. In addition, taking top honours, the
under-16 girls won their team event - qualifying for the
African Junior Team Championships which will be played
later this year. But let’s not forget to mention that the
under-16 boys were runners-up of their team event too.

Over the next two years, which is the duration of
his contract as the under-16 South African tennis
coach, he will be travelling with the team to
various countries, representing South Africa.

With years of experience and a track record that says it all,
Coach van Rensburg brings a wealth of knowledge to local
juniors and is, without a doubt, your go-to tennis pro!

Van Rensburg’s life philosophy:
“I strongly believe that you can achieve
whatever you set your mind to - we walk
              by faith, not by sight.”
