Welcome from the UAC Board
Welcome to UAC 2018! We are so excited that you have joined us in this
gathering of the worldwide astrological community. Every four to six
years since 1986, we all come together for the biggest astrology
conference on earth to learn from each other, to see longtime friends
and colleagues, to spark new collaborative ideas and projects, and to simply celebrate together this fascinating
and unique pursuit of astrology.
We are a global village, both in the varied places around the globe we come from and in the different vantage
points we lend to this unique field of study. Astrology is used to give greater context to our past and our future,
to offer depth and insight into our individual and collective lives, and to look at countless specific topics such as
relationships, health, and finances. This conference will offer 15 different themed tracks, each representing its
own unique specialization. An international conference like this is an amazing opportunity to attend lectures by
the luminary teachers of your favorite area of study, but also to branch out and sample other ways of thinking
about this vast discipline.
We are lucky to be holding UAC 2018 in the heart of Chicago on the Magnificent Mile, with easy accessibility to
varied and delicious restaurants, the Adler Planetarium, the world-renowned Art Institute of Chicago museum,
and an entire vibrant city to explore. We also hope to see you at the sunset cruise on Lake Michigan Friday night,
Saturday’s live jazz party, and the Regulus awards banquet Monday evening.
Putting together a conference of this scope is a labor of love, and it truly takes a village to raise a UAC.
This process started almost five years ago, and has included the UAC Board, the UAC Planning Committee, all
the staff and volunteers making things go smoothly on site this week, and of course our invaluable conference
coordinator, Laura Nalbandian. On behalf of all of us, we are so glad you are here. We wish you sparks of new
learning, warm reconnections with friends and colleagues, and a week of experiences that feed your mind, heart,
and spirit.
