Family Water Balloon Games
Water balloon games are a great way to have water fun
in the backyard or in one of our City parks.

It uses a lot less water than sprinklers, which helps with
poten�al droughts during the summer months.

                   Golf Fitness
                   This 6-week golf specific fitness class will incorporate: a
                   basic TPI screen (Titleist Performance Ins�tute) posture
                   and flexibility for golf, golf specific movement pa�ern
                   drills, core/back/hip and shoulder strength, proper
                   warm-up and injury preven�on. This class is for all levels
                   of golfers’ junior, amateur and pros.

promo�on of the importance of recrea�on and parks and the
integral role it plays in quality of life for all Bri�sh
Columbians.

June is Recrea�on and Parks Month is also your opportunity
to celebrate and promote your local recrea�on and
park programs and facili�es!

To help you do this, we've put together a number of
promo�onal materials you can use - see below.

Make sure to use #JRPM2020 when promo�ng or pos�ng
photos and stories during this month, to highlight your
community's ac�vi�es and help inspire others!

We'll be re-pos�ng and promo�ng your events and stories
through our social media channels to showcase all the
community based ac�vi�es family, friends and neighbours

                         Now is the �me to breathe and enjoy
                          our beau�ful natural surroundings.

                         If you are a local in the Nicola Valley,
                        we invite you to our vast trail network
                        while maintaining physical distancing of
                            at least 6 feet or 2 meters when
                                encountering other hikers.

                  Trail Guide
                  This wealth of off-road informa�on provides full detail
                  maps of five of Merri�’s most notable, memorable, and
                  scenic hiking spots. The trail guide provides all the info
                  needed to tackle the scenic Kane Valley and Sugarloaf
                  Mountain, upping the difficulty with the Coutlee Plateau
                  and Swakum Mountain, and finally challenging even the
                  most seasoned outdoorsman with the chart-topping
                  treks of Iron Mountain.

                  Included is a full map of the Nicola Valley detailing how
                  to access each site, an in-depth map of the City of
                  Merri�, reflec�ons and insights from local hikers on local
                  trails and more.

Merri� is home to 7 City Parks, which are all open to the public, including the
playgrounds on the parks.

Family Activities
Get out your soccer ball, pull out that frisbee or go catch your football with your kids or
spouse.

Relaxing
Put together a picnic basket and grab a picnic blanket and bring a book or enjoy a good
conversa�on.

Get Active
Bring those home workout rou�nes to the grassy outdoors, while breathing in our clean
mountain air.

Find your running shoes and hit the track on Voght Park.

Youth Skate Park
     Wether you like to skate, blade, roll, flip or dive, the
     Youth Park is open to the public.
     Please make sure to follow the physical distancing
     guidelines.

     Rotary Bike Park
     You don’t need to look far to find some extreme
     mountain bike jumps in Merri�. The Rotary Bike Park,
     renovated in 2018, offers a wide variety of mountain
     bike thrill.

     Multi-Use Sports Box
     The Mul�-Use Sports Box is open. Please make sure to
     maintain physical distancing and bring your own
     equipment.

     Dog Park
     The dog park is open to the public.
     Please make sure to follow the physical distancing
     guidelines.
