It is said that the day has eyes and the night has ears. But the “Night of Culture” in Lund, happens to have
both. On Saturday 21st of September you are welcome to enjoy 400 activities ranging from everything
from theatre, art and live music, to yoga, science and guided tours. Most activities are free of charge.
Eighty different organizations contribute to the program.

Kulturnatten information center

Food at Kulturnatten
There are many restaurants and simpler food places to choose from. Saluhallen will have open until late.
And at Stortorget you will find stalls that sell African food, langos, burgers, fish n’ chips and hot dogs. For
dessert there is pancakes, churros and roasted almonds. Bon appetite!

The European Mobility Week in Lund
From the 15 – 22:th of September all motor driven traffic will be closed off from Klostergatan and Stora
Gråbrödersgatan, in order to make place for pedestrians and activities. Lunds Kommun will decorate with
picnic tables, plants and park benches to make the city center an even nicer place to visit. This campaign
is a part of European Mobility Week – an initiative for encouraging sustainable travel and transportation.

I see you – photographer Ida Ekelund
Ida Ekelund worked in her own photographic studio Lund in 1920s. Even though her pictures where of
high quality, her name soon disappeared in the dark of history. But in 2012, thousands of Idas glass
negatives were found under a floor when the house that once housed her studio was renovated. The find
is now displayed at Kulturen.

Katja of Sweden
With her own department on Saks Fifth Avenue in New York, first pages of the world's leading fashion
magazine and a sold out collection at Harrods in London, Katja Geiger became Sweden's first
internationally known fashion designer. In this exhibition Katja's clothes and shoes are mixed with journal
films and fashion photographs by Claës Lewenhaupt and Georg Oddner.

Science Village Scandinavia invites you to guided tours of “Vindarnas Park” and an introduction to Lund's
new Science Center. The architectural competition has just been completed, and now you are invited to

Between MAX IV and Central Science Village lies Vindarnas Park. A 6-acre botanical forest. It contains
30,000 plants from all corners of the earth. The park is normally closed to the public to protect the

During his years as a children’s libaraian, Jens Mattson has been properly marinated in the art of picture
books. His debut “Vi är lajon!” is the result of countless meetings with children and the realization that
more books on eternal subjects like: life, death and play are always needed. After the book release, you
are welcome to join us for arts and crafts on the theme “Lions” at Utsikten.

Pianist Stina Ahlquist presents her own interpretations of classical pieces by various composers, including
Sarabande by Händel, songs from ‘Uti vår hage’, Phantom of the Opera and self-written pieces.

Game of Thrones
Linda Antonsson and Elio García run the website Westeros.org and have written the book “The world of
ice and fire” together with George R.R. Martin, the author Game of Thrones-books. They talk about their
long-standing collaboration with Martin and about the creation of the book, which is the definitive guide
to Westeros.

Slowgold is the musical alias of Amanda Werner. She creates timeless, poetic stories that are conveyed
with the help of distant guitars as well as dreamy song exclamations. Amanda has interpreted Ratata in
the tv-show “På Spåret”, been part of Freddie Wadling's band, guested First Aid Kit in front of 20,000
people at Liseberg and been on the covers of newspapers such as Dagens Nyheter, Göteborgs-Posten
and Sonic.

A musical and cultural fusion that explores issues of life and death, escape and cultural identity. With: The
violin virtuoso and Bach specialist Semmy Stahlhammer and the street dancer and choreographer Maele
Sabuni.

Höst i Lund/ Autum in Lund
A cabaret concert about their hometown with Jan Sigurd and Anna-Lena Brundin. Lund means a lot to
them both, and each song is like a short musical story about the city.

‘Skryt’ with Boelspexarna
Lund's only fully female ´spex´ group was formed in 1994 and the third weekend in October they
traditionally present their annual performance.
