PM Modi Inaugurates Dr Ambedkar National
                 Memorial

प्रधान मं त्री मोदी ने डॉ अंबेडकर राष्ट्रीय स्मारक का
                    उद् घाटन ककया

   Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Dr
    Ambedkar National Memorial in New Delhi. The
    memorial is dedicated to the life and contributions of
    Dr. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the
    Constitution. The foundation stone for the Memorial
    was laid by the Prime Minister in 2016.

   The memorial has an exhibition area, meditation hall
    with the Buddha Statue and 12 feet high bronze statue
    of Dr Ambedkar. It is equipped with a sewerage
    treatment plant, a rainwater harvesting System and
    rooftop solar energy.

   Eighth Regional 3R Forum concludes

आठवी ं क्षेत्रीय 3 आर फोरम का समापन

 The eighth 3R regional forum in Asia and pacific being
  held in Indore from the 9th April 2018 concluded with
  the adoption of chair summary by the participating
  nations reaffirming their commitment to promoting
  the principles of 3R - Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
 Govt of Madhya Pradesh appreciated the outcomes
  and achievements of the 3R forum and expressed
  confidence in Forum's capacity in propagation of 3R
  principles.
 The 3R forum legacy was handed over to the
  delegation of the Govt. of Thailand - the host of the
  next 3R forum to be held in Bangkok, which extended
  invitation to all the participant nations.

   President 3-Nation Visit: Completes Final Leg In
                Zambia, Returns India

    राष्ट्रपकत की 3-राष्ट्र यात्रा: जाम्बिया में पूर्ण हुई,
                       भारत लौटे

   President Ram Nath Kovind has returned to New Delhi
    after three African nations tour of Equatorial Guinea,
    Swaziland and Zambia. Mr Kovind and his Zambian
    counterpart Edgar Chagwa Lungu laid the foundation
    stone of Lusaka traffic Decongestion Project.

   The cost of the 93-km road is 289 million dollar India is
    providing 250 million dollars. The project will be
    completed in three years. This project is aimed at
    redesigning the major road network for Lusaka city
    with a view to reducing traffic jam, travel distance and
    saving fuel.

   Bhanu Pratap Sharma appointed chairman of
                Bank Board Bureau

    बैं क बोडण ब्यूरो के नए िेयरमै न कनयुि

   The government has appointed former DoPT
    Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma as Chairman of
    the Banks Board Bureau (BBB).

   He replaces Vinod Rai, who was appointed as the
    first chairman of BBB for a two year term.

   Sharma has been appointed for two years.

   Jayant Sinha to head Task Force for UAV
                    technology

जयंत कसन्हा करें गे यूएवी कनमाण र् की तकनीक
 पर नजर रखने वाले टास्क फोसण का नेतृत्व

   The Government has decided to constitute a Task Force
    under the chairmanship of Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister
    of State for Civil Aviation for fast-tracking the roll-out
    of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology.
   The Task Force will develop a roadmap with
    implementable recommendations for Central as well as
    State     Governments,      Industry     and    Research
    Institutions.
   The Task Force will consist of representatives from the
    Government, PSUs, industry and sectoral experts and
    submit report within 6 months of its constitution.
   The Headquarters of the Task Force will be at Ministry
    of Civil Aviation, New Delhi.

   NHAI Signs Agreement For Its 1st International
                     Project

     एनएिएआई ने अपनी पहली अंतराण ष्टरीय
    पररयोजना के कलए समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर ककए

 The National Highways Authority of India has signed an
  agreement for the upgradation of Yagyi – Kalewa section
  of highway in Myanmar to two lanes with earthen
  shoulder. The aim is to provide seamless vehicular
  movement for enhancing trade, business, health,
  education and tourism among India, Myanmar and
  Thailand.
 The project has been funded by Ministry of External
  Affairs, Government of India and would be executed on
  EPC(Engineering Procurement Construction) mode at
  a cost of Rs.1177 crores. The project will have 3 new major
  bridges and 2 new minor bridges. The project would be
  completed in three years.

   65th National Film Awards

65 वें राष्ट्रीय कफल्म पुरस्कार

 The 65th National Film Awards were announced
  in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. The chairpersons
  of the three juries (Feature, Non-feature and
  Writing) for the National Film Awards have
  announced the awards for the different
  categories.
 This year, the jury is being headed by director
  Shekhar Kapur. The jury panel has 10 members.
  National Film Awards will be given by the
  President Ram Nath Kovind in May 2018.

 ‘Village Rockstar’(Assamese), Directed by Rima
            das bagged the best film award
              Best Hindi Film: Newton
 Choreography: Ganesh Acharya for 'Gori Tu Latth
            Maar' for Toilet - Ek Premkatha
          Best Special Effects: Baahubali 2
            Best Background Score: Mom
 Best Actress is given to Sri Devi posthumously for
     her role in the film ‘Mom’ and the Best Actor
    (Male) award goes to Riddhi Sen for his role in
               Bengali film ‘Nagarkirtan’.

   Late Veteran Actor Vinod Khanna Awarded
            Dadasaheb Phalke Award

   फाल्के पुरस्कार से सम्माकनत ककया गया

   Veteran Hindi film actor Shri Vinod Khanna was
    awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his
    contribution to Indian Cinema. This was announced
    during the 65th National Film Awards.
   Some of the other prominent winners in various
    categories for this year National Film Awards included
    Assamese movie ‘Village Rockstars’ in Best Feature
    Film category and ‘Baahubali - The Conclusion’ in the
    Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment
    category. The Feature Film Central panel was headed
    by Shekhar Kapur.

                Boxing Medal
राष्ट्रमं डल खे ल 2018: नमन तंवर ने भारत का
            पहला मु क्केबाजी पदक जीता

   Nineteen-year-old Naman Tanwar won India its
    first boxing medal at the 2018 Commonwealth
    Games, winning a bronze in the men's 91 kg
    category.

   Naman lost out to Australia's Jason Whateley in
    the semifinal of the event to secure the bronze.

   CWG 2018: Bajrang Punia Wins His 1st CWG Gold

राष्ट्रमं डल खे ल 2018: बजरं ग पुकनया ने जीता अपना
                  पहला राष्ट्रमं डल पदक

   Wrestler Bajrang Punia won his first
    Commonwealth Games gold medal, defeating
    Wales' Kane Charig by technical superiority in the
    men's freestyle 65 kg final in Gold Coast,
    Australia.

   This is India's fifth medal in wrestling in this
    edition, with Rahul Aware and Sushil Kumar
    registering gold wins earlier. Bajrang had won a
    silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

   CWG 2018: Tejaswini Sawant Wins India's 5th
                   Shooting Gold
राष्ट्रमं डल खे ल 2018: तेजम्बस्वनी सावंत ने जीता
भारत का 5वां िूकटं ग स्वर्ण पदक

   Tejaswini Sawant won India its fifth shooting gold
    medal      at     the     2018     Commonwealth
    Games, winning the women's 50m Rifle 3
    Positions Finals in Gold Coast, Australia.

   This was 37-year-old Tejaswini's second medal at
    the 2018 edition, after winning silver at the
    women's 50m Rifle Prone. India's Anjum Moudgil
    won silver at the event, after having topped
    qualification.

   CWG 2018: Anish Bhanwala Becomes India's
          Youngest CWG Gold Medalist
राष्ट्रमं डल खे ल 2018: अनीि भंवला भारत के
 सबसे युवा राष्ट्रमं डल स्वर्ण पदक कवजेता बने

   Fifteen-year-old shooter Anish Bhanwala
    became India's youngest gold medalist at the
    Commonwealth Games, winning the men's 25m
    Rapid Fire Pistol Finals with a record score at Gold
    Coast, Australia.

   India's Neeraj Kumar stood fifth at the event.
    Anish, who is participating in his first
    Commonwealth Games, won gold at the ISSF
    Junior World Cup in Sydney 2017.
