Historical re-enactment of Legio XIII Gemina
"Alea Iacta Est" with these words, Gaius Julius Caesar, in January 49 BC, together with the faithful XIII Legio
Gemina, crossed the Rubicon, the river that separated the borders of the Urbe territories from Cisalpine Gaul,
changing history. After that he proceeded to Ariminum, where he harangued his valiant men, the legionaries of the
Thirteenth Legion, the "Lions of Cisalpine Gaul". It was one of the decisive moments in Julius Caesar's life and in
all of Roman history.
On Saturday 14 January 2023, the Legio XIII Gemina Association, the first legion in the Rimini area, is
organizing an important event to commemorate the moment in which Caesar pronounced these famous words,
just in the Rimini Forum (now Piazza Tre Martiri, and once called piazza Giulio Cesare) immediately after crossing
the Rubicon in January 49 B.C.
The event, with many legionaries in historical costume, will begin in the area in front of the Tiberius bridge with the
following program:
16:00 the legionaries of the Legio will train and perform in front of the Tiberius Bridge
17:00 the legionaries in formation will cross the bridge and take Corso di Augusto to arrive in Piazza Tre Martiri
17:30 start of the ceremony in the square with the reading of the locution pronounced by Caesar and oath of the
new legionnaires
18:15 the legionaries will greet the statue of Julius Caesar and will return to the Tiberius Bridge
The event is free and suitable to adults and young people.

Ice skating rink and Christmas Circus and market in Marina Centro
The Ice village 'with a sea view' rises in the heart of Marina Centro, a stone's throw from the Grand Hotel, near the
fountain of the Four Horses.
Children and adults can skate on ice just a few metres from the sea inside a Christmas Village full of
entertainment.
For the little ones, carousels, games and Santa Claus's house, while a large marquee on the Rotonda of the
Grand Hotel hosts the Christmas Circus Show, where, from 16 December to 15 January, there will be
entertainment and shows for all.
On 31 December, the Children's New Year is celebrated starting at 9.30 pm with games, music, dancing,
entertainment... panettone, sparkling wine and sweets (for reservations +39 338 4654085).
On January 6, the Befana arrives, entertaining the children throughout the day and accompanyig them inside the
circus to participate in the shows. At the end of the Christmas holidays (8 January), the shows at the Circus will
resume on Friday 13 with a show at 17.00 and will continue until Sunday 15 January, at the usual
times. Christmas lights and decorations make the atmosphere even more suggestive, while the most loved
mascots can be photographed with the children.

Photographic exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Amedeo Montemaggi (1923-2023), with
unpublished images from the archive of this important protagonist of the city's culture.
Known as a journalist, founder of the Rimini editorial staff of Resto del Carlino in the 1950s, popularizer of the
artistic beauties of Rimini and finally a historian with a passion for the events of the Gothic Line, his photographic
activity was so far completely unknown, documented by the recent discovery in his home of over 40,000
negatives.

Rimini Marathon 2023

8th edition
The Rimini Marathon is back, the great national and international sporting event that involves an entire city,
touching the most characteristic and evocative places and squares.
In addition to the 42 km marathon and the 21 km half marathon, there are: La Ventina 20 km, Family Run 6 km,
Kids Run 1 km.
Also this year the national gathering of wheelchair "pushers" will be re-proposed, or groups that make disabled
people experience the thrill of a marathon, pushing wheelchairs for all 42 kilometers.
The marathon village is set up at the Arco d'Augusto, where, in addition to collecting the race package, there are
exhibitors from the sector.

These are the essential elements that guide the 2022/2023 Season: the presence of the great protagonists of the
Italian scene and a mixture of genres and languages, ranging from classical to musical comedy to dance.
Alongside the 20 shows on the bill and dance proposals, there is the novelty of a special program designed for
young people, for schools and for children aged 3 to 8 (among which, the review at the Teatro degli Atti "New
generations", curated by Alcantara and "Sciroppo di teatro", in collaboration with ATER), with a choice of shows
capable of intriguing, involving and interesting the new generations of spectators.
The second novelty concerns is the Teatro no limits project, created in collaboration with the Diego Fabbri Center
in Forlì, which also offers the sighted and partially sighted persons the possibility to enjoy the emotions of a live
show.

Theater Season of prose and dance 2022/2023 - ABC shifts
'Lazarus' is the title of the surprising rock-work conceived and wanted by David Bowie shortly before his death,
written alongside award-winning Irish playwright Enda Walsh, inspired by Walter Tevis' The Man Who Fell to
Earth.
Lazarus, which premiered Off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop on December 7, 2015 (Bowie's last
public appearance), offers a sort of sequel to the story of the unhappy interstellar migrant Newton, forced to stay
on Earth.

Urban visions by Davide Frisoni

PERLarte project at the Rimini Conference Center (Palacongressi)
After the exhibition with the works of Luca Giovagnoli and Davide Conti, and of the sixteen students of the
Graphic Design 3 course of the LABA of Rimini (Free Academy of Fine Arts), is Davide Frisoni’s turn to propose
his works in a multipurpose space of Palacongressi, the Convivio space, the area that the Palacongressi of Rimini
has allocated to the PERLarte project, an initiative that adds a further element of knowledge of the territory
through the language of contemporary art and the enhancement of a local artist.
The exhibition by the Rimini artist Davide Frisoni offers international places from which the artist drew inspiration,
as well as of course the city of Rimini, a city dedicated to welcoming and meeting.
The exhibition is available to participants in the congresses scheduled at the Palacongressi in Rimini and by
reservation for citizens and tourists.
On December 16-17-18, Davide Frisoni's exhibition is open to the public with free admission from 4 to 7 pm.

Contemporary art exhibition at the City Museum
45 works of contemporary art by 36 artists, awarded in 2021 as part of the tender promoted by the Emilia-
Romagna Region to support the visual arts sector hit in the pandemic era, exhibited in Rimini, in the New Wing of
the City Museum.
The works, were selected by a jury made up of accredited experts in the sector (Gloria Bartoli, Walter Guadagnini
and Marco Pierini) with the aim of identifying "the variety of the research that is being developed in the Emilia-
Romagna area, a faithful mirror of the variety that characterizes the contemporary artistic panorama ".
The New Wing of the Museum will also host two extraordinary donations from the Bolognese patron
Francesco Amante, an art enthusiast entrepreneur, who granted to the Region ‘Collection of Paths’ (1995) by
Emil Lukas and to the Municipality of Rimini ‘Terza camera’ (Lettiga) (2007) by Flavio Favelli.
The exhibition is curated by Cristina Ambrosini, Claudia Collina and Giovanni Sassu, with the collaboration of
Alessandro Paolo Lena.
