Wed 16 January to Fri 1 February - Fifty fantastic females
Atkins Gallery, Atkins Building, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley
The follow up exhibition to the Famous Fifty is Fifty Fantastic Females, a
touring exhibition celebrating the Rights of Women Centenary 1918-2018. This
exhibition features famous women from history like Boudica, and local suffragette
Alice Hawkins to modern author Julia Donaldson creator of the Gruffalo’s Child. The
         achievements of the fantastic females are depicted on female silhouettes
                      decorated by hand by local schoolchildren, artists and
                                    community groups.

Sat 2 - Annual all day ‘come and sing’ event
United Reformed Church, The Borough, Hinckley
Looking at Gioachino Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle and will spend most of the
day in rehearsal, led by musical director Richard Archer. We are then rewarded with
a delicious afternoon tea with homemade cakes. The day concludes with an
informal performance (free admission) at 4:30pm - please invite family and friends.
Music scores, tea/coffee are provided, all you need to bring is a packed lunch.
Registration fee: £15 for the day (£7.50 for full time students under 25), to include

Fri 8 - 4th Avenue’s first anniversary show
Concordia Theatre, Stockwell Head, Hinckley
Four Hinckley-based singers met up a year ago to form
one of the most successful groups the local area has
recently seen. Compared by many to The Overtones
due to their vocal range and versions of classic songs
with breath-taking harmonies, 4th Avenue’s crowd interaction and
slick routines have propelled them to the front of the music scene both locally and
around the UK. Performing a fundraising evening for the Concordia and filming their
first DVD. Joined by a live band and backing dancers. Tickets: £15.

NTP Studio presents The War of the Worlds and recreates an infamous moment in
              radio history - the live US radio broadcast by the Orson Welles
                             Company of H.G. Wells’ sci-fi classic, The War of the
                                         Worlds on Halloween Night, 30 October 1938.
                                         It was reported at the time that the broadcast
                                        caused chaos as listeners across America
                                        believed that the radio dramatisation was in
                                       fact ‘live news’ and the reports of aliens

Are you a carer? Do you want to meet other carers and
like-minded folk for a friendly chat and a cuppa? Why not come along to
our Coffee morning, run by Sandra Maydwell of ‘Sharing Precious Memories’.
Carers are welcome to bring their loved ones along. Meetings take place on the
second Monday of each month, 10:30am to 12 noon.

Guided Walks at Bosworth Battlefield

experienced guide for an informative 2km guided walk exploring the Battle of
