producing and playing music in several bands including the pan-european trio Lonely
Drifter Karen, with whom he released three albums on Crammed Discs. When
performing he uses a Prophet 08 synthesizer, his voice filtered through a vocoder,
alongside a limited palette of effects. Marc Melià breaks the usual rules of electronic
music: what you see is what you hear.

        Wed 16 / 23:45-00:30 / Huize Maas, Main
        facebook.com/Delgresband
Drumming that is both metronomic and lithe, a dobro-guitar delivering scalding riffs,
and earthy basslines emerging from a beaten up tuba… this is Delgres, a power-trio
that’s reinventing the blues by injecting it with abrasive trance-rock, recalling the
soul of Tuaregs as much as that of The Black Keys or John Lee Hooker. This fiery,
rebellious music very much speaks to us in the present moment, shaking our bodies
        as well as our minds.

Behind Hyperculte lie Simone Aubert (Massicot) and Vincent Bertholet (Orchestre Tout
Puissant Marcel Duchamp). She whacks her drums with pinpoint precision while he
tames his double bass, making it thrum in a continuous loop, and together, they hum
repetitive and inspired litanies. The result is a hypnotic ball of fire that is contemplative
and extraordinarily powerful. Hyperculte unites the urgency and audacity of Liquid
Liquid, the experimentations of Arthur Russell, the unabashed turbulence of Neu! and
Can, the delirious pop music of Areski and something ethereal and incantatory from
the depths of the breeding grounds of existence.
