Isn’t this an exciting time as we begin a new program year? A year for “Anchors up for
Veterans and their Families”. I am sure we are all beginning to regain some normalcy in our lives
and our VFW Auxiliary. It is important that we get back to conducting live meetings and
enjoying the comradery of our brothers and sisters. Our Mini-Convention on June 10th was
proof that our Department is ready to conduct business as
usual. We had a wonderful day with the 2020-2021 awards
ceremony and the installation of the 2021-2022 Department
Officers.

Speaking of getting back to business as usual… We had a great
turnout for our School of Instruction at Cecil County Memorial
VFW Post No. 6027. The Department Program Chairpersons
presented information on their respective programs, and they
all filled us with much inspiration. I was asked by President
Cheri to share a video presentation from the Online Auxiliary
Academy titled “How to Activate your MALTA account”. For
those that were not in attendance, I am including in this mailing
a written tutorial for creating a MALTA Login. Hope you find it
helpful!

Also, please see the attached flyer for President Cheri Brown and Commander James Wade’s
Homecoming scheduled for August 21st, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Chesapeake City Memorial VFW Post
No. 7687. Preparations are underway for an afternoon of fun, games, music, food and surprises!

Mark your calendars for National President Jean Hamil’s visit to Maryland on October 26th
through 28th. After the National President’s visit, stay on at the Princess Royale Oceanfront
Hotel in Ocean City for the Eastern Conference scheduled for October 29th – 31st.

For more activities, please see the 2021-2022 Schedule of Events.
