May 8, 2022 ~ 4th Sunday of Easter
On this IV Easter Sunday, dedicated to the Good Shepherd. We will reflect on a small part of the Homily on the Gospels of
Saint Gregory the Great (540-604). He was the sixty-fourth pope of the Catholic Church. He is one of the great fathers of the
Latin or Western Church. “I am the good shepherd, I know my sheep, that is, I love them. And my sheep know me. As if
wanting to say openly: I correspond to the love of the one who loves. Knowledge always precedes the love of truth. Ask
yourselves, dearest ones, if you are the sheep of the Lord, if you know him, if you know the light of truth. I speak not only
of the knowledge of faith, but also of that of love; not only to believe but also to act. St. John, the Evangelist, in effect
explains: 'Whoever says: I know God, but does not keep his commandments, he is a liar' (1 John 2:4)." And he continues his
homily: "As the Father knows me and I know the Father, and I offer my life for the sheep" (Saint Gregory). Our current
Pastor, Pope Francis, gives us the message as follows: “Our life is totally safe in the hands of Jesus and the Father, who are
one thing: one love, one mercy, revealed at once. and forever in the sacrifice of the cross. He is our guide, our teacher, our
friend, our model, but above all he is our savior. Sometimes Jesus calls us, invites us to follow him, but perhaps it happens

En este IV Domingo de Pascua, dedicado al Buen Pastor. Reflexionaremos una pequeña parte de la Homilía sobre
los Evangelios de San Gregorio Magno (540-604). Fue el sexagésimo cuarto papa de la Iglesia Católica. Es uno de
los grandes padres de la Iglesia latina o de occidente. “Yo soy el buen pastor, yo conozco a mis ovejas, es decir las
amo. Y mis ovejas me conocen. Como queriendo decir abiertamente: correspondo al amor de quien ama. El
conocimiento precede siempre al amor de la verdad. Pregúntense, estimadísimos, si son ovejas del Señor, si lo
conocen, si conocen la luz de la verdad. Hablo no solamente del conocimiento de la fe, sino también de aquel del
amor; no solamente de creer sino también de obrar. San Juan, el evangelista, en efecto explica: ‘Quien dice:
conozco a Dios, pero no observa sus mandamientos, es un mentiroso’ (1 Juan 2:4)”. Y continúa su homilía:
“Como el Padre me conoce y yo conozco al Padre, y ofrezco la vida por las ovejas” (San Gregorio). Nuestro
actual Pastor, el Papa Francisco, nos da el mensaje de la siguiente manera: “Nuestra vida está totalmente segura en
las manos de Jesús y del Padre, que son una sola cosa: un único amor, una única misericordia, reveladas de una
vez y para siempre en el sacrificio de la cruz. Él es nuestro guía, nuestro maestro, nuestro amigo, nuestro modelo,
pero sobre todo es nuestro salvador. A veces Jesús nos llama, nos invita a seguirle, pero tal vez sucede que no nos
damos cuenta de que es Él”. ¿Qué voces escuchas actualmente? ¡Señor, que sea uno contigo y escuche tu voz!

Las ovejas tienen una mala reputación lingüística. Algunos se IGNOREN ESTE TIPO

lobo puede cuidar de sí mismo. Hacemos esto porque a menudo
resistimos la necesidad de descansar en la grandeza de Dios. Como un
niño que camina solo a la escuela por primera vez (olvidando que su
mamá lo está siguiendo atentamente en el auto), queremos pensar que
podemos manejarlo todo por nosotros mismos. La verdad es que Dios
está tratando de decirnos algo comparándonos con ovejas: no tienes que
hacer esto tu solo. Cada vez que miro un obstáculo y pienso que no hay
forma de evitarlo, me estoy olvidando de que tengo un pastor que conoce
