BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS – The feast of St. Francis of Assisi is tomorrow, October 4th. Our parish
school will be having a special ceremony of blessing of the animal’s tomorrow morning at 9:15 a.m. It will
be held on the south porch of the church (facing the school) as that area facilitates a nice procession. If you
would like to have your pet blessed, please bring it that morning. Dogs should be kept on leashes and cats in

THE CONCERT WILL SOON BE HERE! – As previously announced, our annual "Bach to Broadway" is
scheduled for Friday, October 22. The program is now finalized, and it promises to be fabulous! Be sure to
reserve that evening in its entirety as this is something not to be missed. As we have many new parishioners
who have never attended, it will be more exciting than ever. Our honoree this year will be Mr. Joseph ("Bud")
Scully who is a long-time parishioner of St. Andrew and well known and loved by all. Save the date: Friday,
Oct. 22. Please note that there will be NO Spanish Mass that evening.
GROUP WEDDING – For many years here at St. Andrew's we have offered the opportunity to couples who
are married civilly but have not received the Sacrament of Matrimony the option of a “Group Wedding”. On
Monday, Nov. 8th I will hold an Information Night in the church to offer all details, distribute applications
and answer questions. If you are in a situation where you are civilly married or just living together without
marriage, please consider the call of the Lord to the Sacrament of Matrimony. If you have friends or relatives
in this situation, encourage them to come and get the necessary information. Don’t miss this opportunity!
LATEST ON THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS – Work continues this week on the fountains in the
Piazza. This is very delicate work and time consuming, so it is expected to take a couple of weeks. However,
I have been assured that it will finish in time for the piazza to be ready for the Bach to Broadway Concert on
Oct. 22.
The other project happening right now is that of the new "Cry Room" for parents with babies and small
children. The bathroom installation made major progress this week and I expect it will be complete very
soon. Then we must install the video and audio equipment. This is also time consuming because it requires
the installation of new cameras in the church so that those in the Cry Room can follow Mass in the church.
Then we must put in seats with kneelers. Currently the Covid regulations don't allow its use anyway, but I
am hoping those will be lifted by the end of this year by which time the construction should be complete.
CHOIRS AND MUSIC UPDATE – Please always be sure to read the column by our Music Director each
week. There you will see the latest information on our new choirs currently being formed by Mr. Ottomanyi
as well as the new children's choirs being formed by Mr. Flahive. Auditions are currently being held so please
consider you and/or your children singing.
A major musical event (other than the Bach to Broadway Concert) will be the performance of the Faure
Requiem for our annual All Souls Mass on November 2nd. As we all know, last year it was impossible, but it
returns this year with all its beauty and solemnity. I think this year will be particularly poignant as we will
pray for all those who died in the past year and especially for all the victims of the pandemic. It is a very
beautiful and solemn Mass so I hope you will mark it on your calendars for Nov. 2nd at 7:00 p.m.

LO MÁS RECIENTE DE LOS PROYECTOS DE CONSTRUCCIÓN – Esta semana continúa el trabajo en las
