On the Landscape: National NHS Pathway
Improvement programme. Eye care to be the
vanguard
Transform eyecare by reducing blocks and delays:
   • Improve service delivery
   • Improve patient outcomes

Create an exemplar for other NHS specialisms
National Eye Care Programme aims:

Support all systems to implement Eyecare Electronic Referral System

Support systems/regions in setting up high volume surgical hubs to improve theatre productivity
and reduce the backlog of routine cases, establishing a visible elective PTL, with enough detail to
understand resource requirement and risk, so that there can be better co-ordinated support and
equity within and between ICSs., ensuring health inequalities are not created as a result of high flow
            clinics.
