Class Materials required every day
Students are expected to bring:
❖ HMH Geometry textbook (consumable)
❖ Binder/ notebook (for Math only) and
graph paper
❖ Geometric tools: ruler, compass, protractor
❖ Charged tablet or laptop
❖#2 pencils or mechanical pencils, eraser,
highlighters, mini stapler
❖Scientific calculator (recommended TI-30 Xa)

Classroom Rules
When in our classroom, students must comply with the following rules:

1) The student will come to class on time and prepared to learn with the required materials.
2) The students will follow directions the first time they are given, and will productively stay on
   task. No activity that interferes with the learning process will be tolerated.
3) Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off and out of reach, unless instructed
   otherwise by me.
4) Students will remain in their assigned seats until the bell rings. No sitting on the desks.
5) The student will respect others and the property of others in our classroom.
6) The student will cooperatively participate in assigned classroom activities, using “2-foot” voices
   and talking only “Mathematics”.
7) Hall pass privileges are available but not to be abused. No passes will be given the first or last
   15 minutes of class.
8) Permission to leave the room should only be asked when lecture time is over.
9) Obey all school and classroom rules.

Failing to comply with the classroom and school
rules can result in the following consequences
              1. VERBAL WARNING

              2. PARENT NOTIFICATION

              3. ADMINISTRATIVE REFERRAL

Daily Assignments
Assignments will be assigned, checked and reviewed DAILY. It is a
student's responsibility to complete assignments on time and to make
corrections on missed problems. Late work is NOT accepted, unless
due to an EXCUSED absence.If you are absent, excused or
unexcused, do not expect a grade of X. An excused absence does not
mean you are excused from the work.
Students are expected to take notes EVERYDAY and keep them in the
appropriate section of their binder. Expect daily quizzes, both
announced and unannounced. **ALL problems should be
attempted and all work MUST be shown for FULL credit. Other
assignments will be online assignments and each student will
receive appropriate instructions in order to access these assignments.

Grading Policy
Students will accumulate points throughout the nine
weeks. Points will come from the following categories,
and will be based on the following percentages:
✓ Category 1: Homework / Classwork/ Participation 30%
✓ Category 2: Exams/Quizzes 70%
✓ Attendance, effort and behavior will be reported
  separately.

   A          90-100%
   B          80-89%
   C          70-79%
   D          60-69%
   F          0-59%
   X= excused (utilized at teacher’s discretion)
   Z= Not turned in

In April-May 2020, you will be taking the
FSA Geometry EOC as part of the new
requirements for getting credit for
this course.

Students are ultimately responsible for their own learning and success.
Although I will provide different ways to learn the material in class, the
students are responsible for completing the assignments on the sites listed,
and parents are strongly encouraged to help students review for the course.
