We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school this term and have produced this
booklet to give you further information about the school day and help you feel prepared. The
transition from home back to school is an exciting but big change for the children. We understand
this and will do everything we can to make the transition as easy as possible. There are some things,
which you can do to help: Be positive about returning to school. Your feelings will guide your child’s
emotions. Reassure your child and help them to look forward to it. You might like to share some of
the photographs in this booklet and explain how things will work because to maintain a safe
environment for children, staff and parents we have put the following systems in place.
Morning Drop Off
We will block the entrance to the staff car park during drop off and pick up, and be there to help
guide you. No parents will be able to access school beyond this point.
We encourage everyone to use our meet and greet service, this will operate in the bus zone because
it is closest to the school steps.
If you are using meet and greet, please make sure your child is sat on the school side so that they
are not getting out of the car, in to the middle of the road. The children, or parent will need to open
the car door themselves.
Saying goodbye at school may be very emotional for you. But try to send your child off with a smile
and a wave, along with the reassurance that you'll be there to collect them later. Please make sure
your goodbye is loving but brief. Sutton Veny staff will be there to welcome the children and lead
them to the different entrances.
Timings

9:00am: Year 1 will enter school via the steps, or use the meet and greet drop off. Staff will
supervise and will only allow one car or parent to drop off at a time.
