391.3 OUR TEAMS
The Newbuilding & Innovation department is divided in six main teams:
Mission Control
Architectural Design
Technical Design
Fleet Modernization
Newbuild Procurement (Part of the Supply Chain department)
Newbuild Finance(Part of the Corporate Finance department)
The Fleet Modernization and Technical Design experts are assigned to projects
specific to Fleet Modernization, AEP or New Build projects. The Mission Control,
Architectural Design, Procurement, Finance teams are assigned to various projects
including AEP, Fleet modernizations and the building of new ships (New buildings).
All teams are supporting all of Royal Caribbean Cruises brands and may be
assigned to projects within all of our brands.
Our team works closely with multiple internal partners, including the Product
Development, Global Marine and Logistics departments. We also maintain strong
partnerships with external stakeholders such as major shipyards and external design
firms.
In addition to our main office (Port of Miami), our department has five site offices
strategically located in close proximity to main shipyards: Saint-Nazaire (France),
Turku (Finland), Papenburg (Germany), Lobith (Netherlands), Ancona (Italy).

NEWBUILD EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM
Newbuild and Innovation is always looking for good people, and who knows good
people better than our own talent. Research has shown, and our own experience
supports, that new hires who come into a company through employee referrals are
excellent contributors, stay with the company longer and are more cost-effective
recruits.
That’s where you come in! If you know someone who would be a good addition to the
Newbuild and Innovation team, you may be awarded a referral bonus of $500.00-
$1,000.00 (less taxes) if you refer a candidate and he or she is hired.
Contact Mary Gutierrez de Pineres, Talent Acquisition Associate, today to learn more
about the program rules!

513.5 AEP SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Since January 2015, ECA zones were set with a cap of 0.1% sulfur limit, consequently, the
regulations required our vessels to burn at a maximum of 0.1% sulfur while in European
ports. In addition, a global cap is set to go into effect in 2020 requiring all vessels to burn
fuel at a maximum of 0.5% sulfur. The AEP initiative will allow for fleet wide compliance by
2020 and mitigation of substantial incremental fuel costs. This system helps remove sulfur
from the exhaust allowing us to remain compliant .
