The Board of Park Commissioners meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Meetings are held at Sunset Community Center unless
otherwise noted. The December meeting is held on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 pm. Park Board meetings are open to the public.

Community Gardens

                                          COMMUNITY GARDENS - AT A GLANCE
Plant some seeds! Watch them grow!
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green are located at the intersection of Peck Road and Bricher Road. The space features 124 garden plots, with 12
plots designed for organic growers. Garden plots are open from dawn until dusk between April and October. Plots are available on a first come/first
served basis. Each plot is 20 ft. x 30 ft. Gardeners are responsible for the maintenance of their garden plot. Gardens will be checked periodically for
maintenance. If a garden appears to need attention, gardeners will be notified by email and phone.
The Community Gardens at Prairie Green are a cooperative partnership between the Geneva Park District, City of Geneva, and Forest Preserve District
of Kane County.
Benefits of Community Gardens
•   Community Gardens offer an opportunity to grow your own produce while getting to know other gardeners.
•   Exposure to green space reduces stress and increases a sense of wellness
•   Community Gardens restore oxygen to the air and help to reduce air pollution

Peck Farm Park

                                                   Peck Farm Park is a unique park that offers visitors a place to slow down and
                                                   enjoy quality time surrounded by nature.
                                                   It features a 365 acre restored prairie with trails for walking, hiking, and biking.
                                                   Visitors can also enjoy the sensory garden, observation silo , outdoor amphitheater,
                                                   seasonal Butterfly House, History Gallery, Nature Discovery Room, gift shop, and
                                                   Hawks Hollow Nature Playground.
                                          In addition, Peck Farm Park offers a variety of environmental programming and
birthday parties year-round. Kids will have a blast with a variety of hands-on activities as they celebrate their birthday at
Peck Farm Park, some options are available year-round! For more information on nature birthday parties, turn to page 81.

Peck Farm Park is also a fantastic venue for outdoor weddings and other events. Peck Farm Park has both indoor and outdoor

                                                     HOW TO REGISTER FOR PRESCHOOL
1.   Complete a Preschool Registration Form (available at Sunset Community Center or online at genevaparks.org; click programs, go to Friendship Preschool.)
     Indicate your 1st and 2nd choice for class time placement.

2.   Bring the completed form, a $50.00 deposit, a copy of your child’s birth certificate, and (if applicable) proof of residency to 710 Western
     Avenue, Geneva. If you are a returning child to Friendship Station Preschool, no birth certificate is needed.

3.   If your first choice of class time placement is available, you will receive notification through e-mail. Teacher assignments, as well as supply lists
     and other important information, will be provided at the Parent Orientation in August.

4.   If your first choice of class time placement is not available, we will notify you and let you know if you are placed on a waitlist or put into your
     2nd choice class time placement.

2021 IMPORTANT DATES
        January 14: Pre-registration for currently enrolled students due
        January 21: Preschool Open House
        February 3: New student registration forms due
        February 4: Random processing of new student registration forms begins
        February 18: Non-Resident registration will be processed
        August 1: Cancellation deadline at 5:00 pm for the 2021-22 school year

CANCELLATION AND LATE PAYMENT INFORMATION
Cancellations for the Fall Preschool program must be received by 5:00 pm, August 1, 2021. An application for refund must be completed as
cancellation verification. It is possible to receive a $25 refund if we fill your spot before July 18, 2021. Deposits will not be refunded after this date.
Payment received after the final payment due date listed will incur a $10.00 charge each week the payment is past due and could result in losing your
spot. Final payments will be pro-rated if the spot has been replaced.
