TRENITALIA contribution to Eutravel project
TRENITALIA is aware that joint transport solutions are a key factor to satisfy the market global demand for integrated,
interoperable and multimodal transport solutions. As a train operator, full integrated with local trasportation services,
TRENITALIA brings to the project:
the rail market needs in a perspective for integrated transports (e.g. buses, local services and so on);
customers real needs related to multimodal transport solutions and interoperable vending systems / channels.
TRENITALIA provides know-how and competences to identify, produce and gather from other industrial partners use case
requirements that are:
aimed to multimodal integration among different transport modes and services
aimed to include transport options and solutions available in different countries;
ROLE
aimed to broaden and link current vending systems/channels.
TRENITALIA use case will aimed to enabling communication, data sharing integration and interoperability among different local
commercial platforms/systems and sales channels owned by different operators in several EU countries. This is expected to
achieve:
pan-European transport services and systems in an end-to-end point of view;
shift from long haul to short haul;
multimodal journey planning;
integration of different national journey information;
local systems integration within an European system to «reach» international customers.
This represents for TRENITALIA an important chance to develope the shift from a “traditional” rail
operator to a whole integrated intermodal innovative mobility operator.
