TWELFTH SUNDAY SUNDAY
IN ORDINARY TIME JUNE 21, 2020 MAY 23, 2021
From the Pastor
Truth and the Church
The Holy Scriptures allow us to know a deep truth, a truth that is not just a memory of the past that
has passed and has become history. This truth is still the reality of the Church today and the Church
of all times, because it is the Holy Spirit. It is he who teaches us, guides us and "pushes" us in the
right directions.
He accompanies us from the beginning to the end, from Baptism to anointing with holy oils. It is
present in all holy sacraments, which are a sign of the invisible grace given to us by God. It is the
Holy Spirit who enables us to pray or prepares us for a good confession. We only need to be open to
what it does inside us and around us.
All our qualities, charisms, feelings and decisions are His work, because it is His inspiration that is
born in our hearts. He is the Giver of Graces, the light of consciences, joy of hearts, cooling at work,
comforting in tears, He heals wounds, bends what is hard, ignites what is cold and what is stray leads
to the haven of salvation. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit sent by Christ to accomplish in us the work of
sanctification that He has served us on Earth. Let us thank the Lord Jesus for His gifts. Let us thank
Him for the gift of peace. It is one of the most precious gifts that can rest in the human heart. It is
a gift that radiates such power that it silences even the most upset.
“There are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the
same God who activates all of them in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for
the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:5-7). Free will, given to us by God, sometimes leads to wrong
decisions and judgments, to wrong actions. Being aware of this, the more we should believe and
thank God for today's Holiday and for the fact that His gifts flow down on us through the Holy Spirit.
Let us give thanks with the words of the Sequence “Give your believers, who trust in You, seven-fold
gifts. Give me the merit of bravery, give me a wreath of victory, give happiness without measure. "PAGE 3 PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 23, 2021

Prawda i Kościół
To On nas poucza, kieruje nami
i „popycha” nas we właściwych kierunkach.
spowiedzi.
To On jest Dawcą Łask, światłością sumień, radością serc, ochłodą
w pracy, utuleniem w płaczu, On leczy rany, nagina, co harde, rozpala, co zimne, co zbłąkane
prowadzi do przystani zbawienia.
wreszcie działania, lecz ten sam Bóg, sprawca wszystkiego we wszystkich. Wszystkim zaś objawia
się Duch dla [wspólnego] dobra.” (1 Kor 12,5-7). Wolna wola, dana nam przez Boga, czasami
prowadzi do błędnych decyzji i osądów, do złych działań.
Daj zasługę męstwa, daj wieniec zwycięstwa, daj szczęście bez miary.”PAGE 4 PENTECOST SUNDAY MAY 23, 2021

Each week you will find a list entitled “Pray for the Sick” hanging in the Narthex in four
locations. On the top is listed all those parishioners who are in the hospital that particular week.
The individuals on the lower half of the sheet have asked to be kept on the list or are terminal.
All of these names are placed in the Intention Basket which is carried up at the Offertory and
are prayed for at all the Masses. If you know of anyone who should be added or deleted from
this list, please contact Paula Daley, Ministry of Care Director, at (708) 458-2562. Note, this
list is different from those on our Sick List in the weekly Bulletin.
