School Holiday Program
Course dates: 9 July to 19 July 2019
Shibori Dying
with Natalie Zuchetti (Ages 9 to 14)
Using indigo dye and Japanese dying techniques, create a
pillow case and fabric to take home with you.
1 session, Tuesday 9 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $25 material fee
Shadow Puppets
with Rhonda Breen (Ages 8 to 12)
Learn the art of shadow puppetry, and how simple or
complex forms can entertain and tell a story. Make a
puppet for everyone in your family for a fun weekend
together in a home Puppet Theatre!
1 session, Wednesday 10 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $20 material fee
Draw, Paint and Print!
with Rhonda Breen (Ages 5 to 8)
Younger children will use their own fingers to draw into
ink or lego, foam shapes and nature such as leaves, with
colourful water-based inks and/or oil pastels to create
monoprints or relief prints in this engaging session.
1 session, Thursday 11 July
10am to 12pm $45 + $10 material fee

STEAM Studio
with Jane Barwell (Ages 8 to 12)
Art meets science in this workshop of experimentation and
creativity. We will use electricity and magnetism to fuel our
creative project.
1 session, Friday 12 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $20 material fee
Mosaic Bird
with Natalie Zuchetti (Ages 6 to 12)
Glass mosaic is an expressive medium that inspires children to
use their creative expression while also learning practical skills
for art processes. Create a mosaic picture to take home for
permanent display.
1 session, Monday 15 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $20 material fee
Origami Animals, Gardens and Models
with Tomomi Yamamoto (Ages 5-12)
Enjoy creating origami animals, gardens and models using
Japanese origami papers. You will also learn a brief history
of origami. Take your creations home with you to play with
or display.
1 session, Tuesday 9 July 10am to 12pm or Tuesday 16
July from 10am to 12pm. $45 + $5 material fee

Funky Pop Art
with Rhonda Breen (Ages 8 to 12)
Get your creative super-powers going and bring your
sunnies! Learn Gelli-Art monoprinting techniques together
with collage-art processes, using cool magazine images
and colourful, fun art materials, to create big, bold, colourful
artworks with POP!
1 session, Tuesday 16 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $20 material fee
Wool Felting – Wall Hanging
with Natalie Zuchetti (Ages 8 to 16)
Learn the technique and process of wet felting
using Merino wool to create a vibrant felted wall
hanging.
1 session, Wednesday 17 July
10am to 1pm $60 + $25 material fee
Acrylic Painting on Canvas – Toucan
with Natalie Zuchetti (Ages 8 to 14)
Explore colour, composition, texture, tone and mark-making
using acrylics on canvas. Learn how to use a grid drawing
technique and enjoy an introduction to colour theory.

with Leela Day (Ages 10 to 14)
Use block printing techniques to design and print
your own one-of-a-kind calico bag or fabric.

Rainbow Terrarium
with Leela Day (Ages 7 to 12)
Working with succulents and coloured sands, get
creative and make a unique terrarium to take home
with you.
1 session, Friday 19 July
1pm to 3pm $45 + $20 material fee
Modern Art Creations
with Jane Barwell (Ages 8 to 12)
Have fun painting, drawing and making sculpture in
this workshop that takes inspiration from the lively
and colourful work of artists Matisse and Calder.

Annual membership is required at Tresillian Arts Centre for all term courses.
Anyone wishing to attend a course, except for the school holiday program,
After School Arts or weekend workshops, must be a member of the centre.
Enrolments for Term Three 2019 will open on 1 July 2019 and enrolment
for the July school holiday classes will open on 24 June 2019.
