IDEA GENERATION & STORYBOARDING

visual media production, our creative and communications department specialise in
seamlessly integrating our stunning space imagery into the story of your brand.

Jameson whiskey distillers might not seem like a brand with a clear connection to space.
Our idea was to announce the launch of new Space Whiskey, as an April Fools’ Day stunt.
We worked with Jameson’s marketing team to develop a storyboard and assets which
allowed them to successfully pitch the idea internally to key decisionmakers.

We dropped the footage on April Fools’ Day along with a press release to media outlets,
generating massive coverage both in industry press and subsequently on “best April Fools’
Day prank” articles in consumer-facing media. This was followed up by an exclusive
documentary-style behind-the-scenes video released on Jameson’s own social media to
increase the longevity of the campaign and incentivise direct engagement with the brand’s
channels. We even created a limited-edition range of Space Whiskey bottles which were
launched into space before being distributed to high profile cocktail bars across the globe.
This created a unique premium experience, shaping perceptions of the brand among
high-end consumers and decisionmakers within the drinks industry.

PRODUCTION & ENGINEERING

Presenting your brand in the best light on a space launch often means
overcoming unique technical challenges. Whatever story you want to tell,
we’ll develop the technology to support your narrative, with production and
engineering working hand-in-hand to bring your vision to life.

Samsung approached us to film some exciting 8K-resolution imagery
to showcase their new range of 8K displays. There are only a handful of
cameras in the world capable of shooting at this resolution and all require
active temperature control to remain within operating conditions. This
presented a huge challenge, as the low air pressure at higher altitudes meant
the cameras’ own fan-based cooling systems were useless. Our
team took a RED Helium 8K camera and developed a combined active-passive
temperature regulation system. This stored heat produced early in the flight
and used it to combat the sub-zero conditions experienced at higher altitudes,
using the environment to our advantage instead of fighting it. The result is one
of many world firsts we’ve accomplished for our clients.

To achieve these incredible technical feats, we have a complete suite of novel
design and manufacturing techniques in house, including 3D printing, CNC
routing and practical effects/prop-building capabilities to guarantee that
whatever you put in front of the camera lives up to the backdrop.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

A good marketing exercise has a lot of moving parts. Rather than
adding another plate you have to keep spinning, we work with your
schedule and take on logistical responsibilities so you can focus on
what matters most.

To promote New Balance’s new Furon V football boots, New Balance
and Pro:Direct decided to send a pair worn and signed by Liverpool
player Sadio Mané into space. Working with celebrities is always
a challenge: Sadio was blocked out for ten hours of shooting with
corporate sponsors and media partners, and Pro:Direct had been
allotted three minutes, which could be scheduled at any time.

We utilised Pro:Direct’s brand ambassadors, YouTube stars Yung
Filly and Chunkz, to act as the face of the video, minimising the need
for Sadio’s involvement while retaining the value of his star power
presence. With our crew directing the YouTubers, Pro:Direct’s team
were able to maximise the value of their limited time with Mané,
grabbing a bunch of supporting content to extend this campaign
and set up future collaborations.

ASSETS & DELIVERABLES

In the social media age, developing content that works across a range of distribution
channels is paramount if you don’t want your brand’s story to be undermined by
accessibility issues. As a digital-first production team, we’re here to help you identify
the platforms your audience are using and produce content that’s optimised for
maximum visibility across those platforms, while maintaining a clear brand voice
throughout.

YouTube Premium original sci-fi show Origin was announced in 2018 as one of the
flagship programs for the service after their rebrand from YouTube Red. To promote
the series, they asked us to conduct a ‘trailer drop’ in space. Looking at the show’s
futuristic focus and YouTube’s reputation as a leading light in online video, we
decided to film the trailer drop in 360° video.

360° continues to be hugely popular as a novelty and YouTube’s algorithms consistently
promote 360° content to interested viewers. We used CGI to create a heads-up display
system around the screen, matching the design of display systems used in the show.
We even displayed the video on a Google Pixelbook 2 for discreet brand integration
across the Alphabet umbrella company. YouTube’s team were ecstatic with the
results, with the lead producer saying of the first images we sent him after
the flight, “I’ve been waiting for an email like this my whole life.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

With climate change an ever-growing concern for consumers, you’re right to

• all equipment launched is recovered after every single flight

  using low-impact manufacturing solutions

Conducting a space launch is a challenging endeavour, subject to many factors beyond human control. If it weren’t, it
wouldn’t be impressive! The same is true of all the best marketing activations. When working with some of the world’s

actions at a distance, a robust back-up tracker system based on military technology, an emergency cutdown mechanism
in case of unexpected drift and radio transponders to minimise risk to aircraft. All our flights are authorised by the Civil
Aviation Authority to guarantee the safety of other airspace users.

Finally, we are the only company in the world to have full Public Liability Insurance to conduct flights of this nature. With a
