Fast Fuel / Rapid Refueling Systems
Shaw Development’s Non-pressurized Refueling System is based on aerospace
technology, allowing the fuel tanks to be filled at flow rates in excess of 212+ GPM*
(800+ LPM) without pressurizing the fuel tank. This system can be used safely on
metal, composite, or bladder tanks. The system consists of three main components:
• Receiver
• Inlet Shut-off Valve
• Level Vent Assembly
Key System Features
• Standard flow rates up to 150 GPM (570 LPM)
• Positive Shut-off prevents “overfilling”
• Meets directive 97/23/EC and does not pressurize tank
• No spills or burst tanks
• Ground level connections
• Mates with industry standard nozzles and 2” NPT receivers
• Shut-off valve acts as a check valve when servicing the receiver
• Receiver can be replaced without draining the tank
* Flow rates are based upon several factors including the shutoff rating of the nozzle
itself. By using a higher shut-off rated nozzle, the Shaw system can deliver in excess
of 212 GPM and beyond.

Micro Fast Fuel / Rapid Refueling Replacement Kit & Signal Line
The Micro Fast Fuel kit is designed to thread into existing recessed wells or ports with a 2” NPT
interface to replace existing systems. Simply remove the old components and thread in the new
Shaw Development System. No cutting or welding required to convert a tank from a pressurized
system to a non-pressurized system.
The kit requires:

Weld-on Retrofit Kit
This weld-on retrofit kit is designed for vehicles without an existing Fast Fuel System. After welding
a “nut plate ring” onto the tank, the well assembly is bolted into place. All the hardware is provided
to allow the owner/operator to modify their vehicle to add a Shaw Development kit.

Diesel Refueling Nozzles
Shaw Development Refueling Nozzles are field proven and uniquely designed
to handle the toughest conditions. These units are fully interchangeable with
existing equipment and are designed for use in the construction, mining,
forestry and agricultural markets. They are built from rugged, lightweight
aluminum and high strength steel in high wear areas. Flow rates are
determined by many factors. By using nozzles with a higher shut-off rating,
flow rates in excess of 212 GPM are possible.

The bolt-on plate installation kit is ideal for the
operator who leases or rents vehicles. Fast Fuel
Systems can be installed, removed and
transferred from one vehicle to another using a
matching bolt pattern or nut plate ring.

Optional Level Control Vent Assemblies
The Level Control Vent Assembly determines the volume of fuel in the tank
and allows for proper venting of the tank. Both open vented and poppet
vented units are offered with 2” NPT or -32 mounting threads. Spacers
are used to adjust the level inside the tank.
Poppet Vents for Side Slope Operation P/N 971-2250-05
For severe side slope operation vehicles Shaw Development also offers
poppet level control vent assemblies. These vents have a cracking
pressure of .5 psi to prevent fuel from sloshing out of the tank on side
slopes. Use of this vent with the Shaw Development Shut-off Valve will
introduce a small amount of pressure to the tank during fill and is not
recommended for bladder or thin walled tanks.

DEF Systems can have issues with debris, which may cause engine de-rate:
• Pump Failures
• Clogged Injectors
• Pump Filter clogs
Debris can be introduced into the DEF Reservoir / System through various means:
• Opening in the reservoir (i.e. fill ports, MFHU removal, and air vents)
• Off-road applications tend to operate in more debris-rich environments
Debris Prevention (Pre-Reservoir): Fill Port Strainer (consistent with in-line filter) will minimize debris
falling into tank during cap removal.
