General Information:
Ample practice space is provided within the facility.
Contest directors, staff, and the Waukesha County School District are not responsible for lost/stolen/damaged property,
accident, or injury during the competition. COVID-19 waiver must be signed to participate.
NBTA solo and team rules will be followed.
Each session will begin with model, strut, solo, novelties, then awards.
There will be a $20.00 gym fee per family, to be included with your entry.
No late entries. No refunds, credits will be given for COVID-19 related cancellations. Any changes to an entry after the deadline
will be charge a $10 administrative fee.
Solo and team entries must be submitted by mail, postmarked by March 24th,2021.

Event Specifications:
Age Divisions will be as follows: 0-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16+ (contest age as of 9/1/2020)
ALL AWARDS AND SCORESHEETS WILL BE PICKED UP IN A PACKET AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION
Pageant:
o Miss Candy Land: top three awards, this is a three-part pageant including: model (in costume) (NO interview in any
division), basic strut in Novice division, super-x (Beg, Int,Adv), and solo
Model:
o Open: in costume, no interview in any division (top 3 awards)
o “Princess Lolly”: novice model pageant, in costume, NO interview (top 3 awards)
o “Queen Lolly”: beginner model pageant, in costume, NO interview (top 3awards)
o “Queen Frostine”: advanced model pageant, in costume, NO interview (top 3awards)
Solo/Strut:
o Basic strut: top 3 awards
o Open, in-state, visitor: top 3 awards
Other events:
o Rhythmic and show twirl: top 3 awards, all music MUST be submitted electronically, email an MP3 of your
music to twirlingclub@sbcglobal.net
o Two baton, three baton: top 3 awards
o Miss Photogenic: top three awards, 5x7 picture, submitted at the start of your session
ADDITIONAL AWARDS MAY BE ADDED TO LARGE GROUPS
Team events:
o Danceline, poms, dance twirl, halftime, twirling team: $5.00/member (maximum
$50.00), top 3 awards, all music MUST be submitted electronically, email an MP3 of your music to
twirlingclub@sbcglobal.net
o Corps: $50.00 flat fee, top 3 awards, all music MUST be submitted electronically, email an MP3 of your music to
twirlingclub@sbcglobal.netCOVID-19 Guidelines:
1. Number of Participants:
The competition is to be divided into up to 3-4 separate groups. Tape will be set-up for the participants to wait by before
they compete. One week prior to competition groupings will be announced and order of events/appearance will be
distributed via the 2021 Candy Land Classic Facebook Group and via email to individual athletes. All Team Events will
occur in the last grouping (late afternoon).
2. Spectators/Social Distancing:
Contestants are only allowed 1 parent/guardian . At no point in time will more than 250 people be in the gym. There
will be painters tape marking off seating areas to comply with social distancing. Attendees will enter through the main
doors and exit through the gym doors to the outside.
3. Masks:
Masks worn over the nose and mouth are required for all attending. Athletes must wear masks while warming up. An
athlete may remove their mask while on the competition floor competing, but then must immediately put their mask
back on upon completion of his/her event. Team/Corps members must wear masks while warming up and while
competing.
4. Performance Area:
Participants will be always 10-15 feet apart while competing. There will be NO INTERVIEW in any modeling event.
5. Cleaning/Disinfecting:
We will have volunteers assigned to constantly be wiping down/disinfecting surfaces throughout the day.
6. Food:
Limited concessions will be available. Everything will be individually wrapped ahead of time. Servers will wear masks
and gloves. No coolers or carry ins.
7. Screening Procedures:
All in attendance will have their temperature taken at the front door with a no-touch thermometer upon arrival to the
competition. If any of your family members have a temperature over 100 degrees the entire family will be asked to
leave.
8. Costumes/Locker Rooms:
Locker rooms will be closed, with access to regular bathrooms.
o Arrive in costume, with hair and make-up done before entering the building
o 2 costume limit per contestant (for solo events)
o Hair must be worn in one style the entire day
o Lanes will not be held for costume changes
9. Music:
Music for corps, teams, rhythmics, show twirls MUST be submitted electronically to twirlingclub@sbcglobal.net
10. Award/Scoresheets:
All events, excect Title Events, will be posted. All score sheets and awards will be bundled together for pick up at the end
of each session. Each athlete will receive a labeled bag with all scoresheets and awards inside of it.
11. Waiver:
All solo contestants and spectators are required to adhere to COVID-19 safety rules and submit a signed Covid-19 waiver
with entry. Team directors should send waivers for team only members with team entry.***PLEASE SIGN AND MAIL BACK WITH YOUR ENTRY***
REVOLUTIONS TWIRLING CLUB AND WAUKESHA NORTH MARCHING BAND CANDY
LAND CLASSIC BATON COMPETITION WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
AGREEMENT, WAIVER AND RELEASE: I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for
damage for personal injury, illness, or property damage which I may have, or which may hereafter
accrue to me, as a result of my, or the identified competitor’s, participation in the Candy Land Classic
Baton and Dance Competition held at Waukesha North High School.
I assume all risks, known and unknown, foreseeable and unforeseeable, in any way connected with
my participation in the Candy Land Classic event. I accept personal responsibility for any liability,
injury, loss, or damage in any way connected with my participation.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Waukesha North High School, the School District of
Waukesha, Revolutions Twirling Club, NBTA and directors, officers, employees, agents, and
volunteers, from all claims, and the cost of defending any Claim I might make, or that might be made
on my behalf, that is in any way connected with or arising out of my participation.
Participation, and attendance, includes possible exposure to, and illness from, infectious diseases
including but not limited to influenza and COVID-19. While preventative measures and personal
discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness does exist. I acknowledge, voluntarily accept,
and assume all risks related to an injury or illness related to these or other infectious diseases as a
result of my participation.
