ANTIQUE TRACTOR PIONEER VILLAGE - Indiana State Fair
STEP RIGHT UP — IT’S CIRCUS TIME
There are big changes ahead for you, our antique tractor exhibitors! You
will discover them as you read this booklet. We hope you agree—these
changes will make life much better for you, Pioneer Village, our guests
and the Indiana State Fair.

ILLUMINATED PARADE
Once again, we have been invited to participate in the Grand Opening of
the 2018 Indiana State Fair with an Illuminated Parade at 9PM on Friday,
August 3rd. We will start the evening with our regular evening parade
that leaves Pioneer Village at 6:30PM. The tractor and floats that are
lighted will then be directed to the track to participate in the Illuminated
Parade in front of the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand later in the evening.
Following the parade, there will be a “Hot Air Balloon Glow”.
All of you who bring a tractor to the State Fair are encouraged to
participate in this parade. Each year the parade has grown larger and
better. We realize that it may be difficult to light up a tractor using the
circus theme, but we also know that our village people are resourceful
and we suspect there will be some outstanding tractors and/or floats
carrying out that theme. So plan now to join in on all of this year’s fun.
We want even more entries this year, so get out your generator and
Christmas lights or other lights you may have available to make an entry
for the parade. If you don’t use the theme, don’t worry about it, still plan
to be a part of the illuminated parade. Just a reminder regular tractor
lights don’t count, as the tractor must be decorated with Christmas LED
type lights. Also this replaces the old Farmer’s Day Parade so there will
be no parade on Farmer’s Day again this year. There will be no evening
parades on Tuesdays and Saturdays, as well because of the extremely
large crowds.
Lighting tractors and floats may be as simple as outlining the unit or
as elaborate as your imagination will allow. There are several ways to
go about decorating. One is to use lights that are powered with AAA
batteries. Another is to use the tractor’s battery with an inverter. However,
most of the participants last year used a small generator. Generators and
Christmas LED lights may be purchased for a moderate price at Amazon.
com as well as at local hardware stores.

EVENING PARADE
You are encouraged to participate in the evening parade whenever
possible, beginning each night at 6:30PM from the Family Fun Park.
(Note: Parades are not held on Tuesday and Saturday nights.) John
Stegemoller is the parade marshal and will lead the antique tractor
portion of the parade. To keep the traffic problems and air pollution to
a minimum, do not start or move your tractor out of your parking space
until John moves his tractor.

Several groups have floats to be pulled in the evening Parades. If you
would like to pull one of them, please contact Terry Johnson, as he will be
handling the daily scheduling needs.

FEATURED TRACTORS
Last year, just a couple of weeks prior to the Fair, a generous family
donated a Moline tractor manufactured sometime around 1920. Don
Villwock, a Pioneer Village friend, also brought a similar tractor from his
collection to display. Don and his family have a couple of others and he
has offered to bring all of them this year. We know there are other early
model Molines and related tractors out there, so we have decided to
feature Moline, Twin City (TC) and Minneapolis tractors built prior to 1940.
Please contact Terry Johnson, who is in charge of the Antique Tractor
Show (phone (317) 430-2989 or email AllisTrac@aol.com) if you have a
potential entry for this special display. There is no entry fee for tractors
featured in the tent. However, they may not be paraded at any time. If you
want to parade it, you will have to pay the normal entry fee.

tickets may be purchased through Exhibitor’s Corner for $8 each.
(And be sure to check the box indicating you will participate in the
Illuminated Tractor Parade.)
Included with this brochure is a mail-in entry form, which requires
$10 processing fee. To avoid this additional fee, we encourage you to
enter online.

TRACTOR SIGNAGE
As in past years, we will provide a small sign for each tractor entered in
the show. However, if you still have your sign from last year and it is in
good condition, please indicate on your entry that you will bring it this
year. It saves on materials, time and costs.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS (AND REMINDERS)
1. In order to provide each individual with quality spectator liability
insurance, the Pioneer Village Antique Tractor Show is now being
organized and conducted by a newly formed organization named
“Pioneer Village Tractor Club — EDGETA”. (New name; all the same
familiar players!) By being an affiliated branch of EDGETA (National
Early Days Gas Engine and Tractor Association), our club members
will be adequately covered in case of any unforeseen catastrophe.
Like many shows around the country, all exhibitors will be required to
be a member in good standing with this local Pioneer Village Tractor
     Club — EDGETA.
Your individual membership of $15 is payable to: Pioneer Village
Tractor Club — EDGETA, 1975 North Washington Street, Danville, IN
46122. Club membership must be paid before you make your Indiana
State Fair entry for the show.
2. Your entry must be made online no later than July 1, 2018. The entry
fee is $30 for up to two (2) tractors per individual. Each exhibitor will
receive one (1) parking pass and six (6) exhibitor tickets. Additional
tickets may be purchased through Exhibitor’s Corner for $8 each.
If you want to order extra tickets, you may either do so at the time of
entering or at a later date by accessing your online account.
3. Entries made online July 2–31, 2018 or postmarked between July 2–31,
2018 will be charged an additional $50 late fee. No entries will be
accepted online or postmarked after July 31, 2018.
4. A $10 processing fee will apply for all mailed-in entries.
5. Each tractor driver must have a valid driver’s license.
6. Absolutely no passengers are allowed on the tractor during any
parade unless it contains an extra mounted seat on the tractor.
Remember: Safety First at all times.
7. Please, no tractors on the Fairgrounds before Monday, July 30, 2018.
The tractor show staff, headed up by Terry Johnson, will be on hand
at that time, and they reserve the right to assign all tractor parking
spots. Please leave the key for your tractor (and any special starting
instructions) as it may be necessary to move your tractor. Only
experienced drivers will be allowed to move any tractor.
8. While on the parade route be especially watchful for children and
pedestrians. Keep the ranks closed in the parade. This helps to keep
people from walking in front of your tractor. Please do not throw
     candy!
9. Sunday, August 19, 2018 is the final day of the Fair. Our guests that
day are entitled to see the entire Fair; therefore, no tractors may be
removed until 7PM when the evening parade concludes. You may
park your truck/trailer in the 42nd Street (Deaf School) parking lot
that day, as exhibitor trailers or large trucks will not be allowed on
the north side of the fairgrounds until after 7PM on August 19, 2018.
A complete staff will be available to assist you on Monday, August 20,
2018, so you may prefer to wait to take your tractor(s) home the day
     after the Fair concludes.
10. It is mutually agreed that the Indiana State Fair assumes no
liability for any loss of property or any claim for personal injury,
including death. The exhibitor herein agrees to release, discharge
and indemnify the Indiana State Fair Commission, its component
members, and their successors from liability by reason of injury to
property and/or persons, including death, which may occur within or
upon premises herein described in any manner connected with use
    thereof by exhibitor.
