In one sentence, John the Baptist completes his vocational mission in
the world which was to point out that the presence of the Messiah was here.
WEDNESDAY JANUARY 13

In the celebration of the Mass, the priest will hold up the Eucharist and
repeat this same phrase to bring these meanings to the front of our minds. Je-
sus who brings us out of the slavery of sin through sacrament of baptism. Je-
sus who reunites us to the Father when we fall again into sin through the sacra-
ment of confession. Jesus who gives us Himself in the unbloody sacrifice of
the Mass to feed us and give us life.
As we journey through this year let our prayer be for the grace to con-
stantly recognize the Lamb of God in the midst of our lives.
