However, both engines provide enough power to easily maneuver through traffic with ease.
No matter which engine option you choose, you’ll be able to merge onto a busy highway, keep up
with the flow of high-speed traffic, and move through stop-and-go traffic in busy city streets. Strap
into the driver’s seat and prepare to be impressed by the power and efficiency of the Kia Sorento
and its engines.
Engine Choices
The standard engine in the 2019 Kia Sorento is a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine, which produces 185
horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed Sportmatic® transmission and a
Sportmatic™ Sports Shifter, it provides a smooth and engaging drive on paved highways as well
as off-road trails.
If you’d like a stronger engine, then choose the available 3.3L V6 engine. With the V6, the Sorento
delivers 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque for an even more riveting drive. Along with the
performance boost, the V6 engine is also equipped with an 8-speed Sportmatic® transmission.
With the available Dynamax™ All-Wheel Drive system, you’ll be able to adapt to a variety of
road conditions. By using electronic sensors, this advanced system monitors the road conditions
and distributes power to the appropriate wheels, further enhancing traction and control.

Fuel Economy

Passenger Room and Cargo Space
With a three-row SUV, you’ll be the go-to driver for carpooling and road trips for your family and
friends. Fortunately, the 2019 Kia Sorento comes with 154.2 cubic feet of passenger volume and
the seating capacity for up to seven passengers. In the front seat, both the driver and passenger
can easily get comfortable with 39.5 inches of headroom and 44.1 inches of legroom.
When you can comfortably transport all your friends in one vehicle, there’s a level of expected
comfort—and the Sorento exceeds that expectation. The second row offers 39.3 inches of
headroom and 39.4 inches of legroom, while the third row provides your passengers
36.3 inches of headroom and 31.7 inches of legroom.
In terms of space, your cargo area also offers an ample amount of room for everything you
