HOSTED BY SEA JAYS SWIM CLUB in conjunction with the ST. LUCIA AQUATICS FEDERATION
The Sea Jays Swim Club cordially invites you to participate in the 2019 Short Course National
Championships to be held at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre from the 5-6 October 2019. The Short
Course National Championships act as a time trial for selection of a St. Lucia National OECS team.
Masters swimmers are welcome to participate in the 9 & over and 11 & over open events as listed in the
Order of Events. All swimmers must be paid SLAF members.
AGENDA
Thursday 3rd October
Coaches technical meeting – 7:00 pm RHAC
This will be last opportunity for coaches to make scratches after which all swimmers on a team’s
entry list will be charged entry fees. NO EXCEPTIONS
Saturday 5th October (ONE SESSION)
OPENING CEREMONY 9:00 AM
DAY 1 Finals - start time 9:15am
Warm up Sessions 1) 7:15-8:00
2) 8:00-8:45
Sunday 6th October (ONE SESSION)
DAY 2 Finals - start time 9:15am
Warm up Sessions 1) 7:30-8:15
2) 8:15-9:00
COURSE: 8-lane 25-meter pool with Colorado Electronic Timing.
RULES: The Meet shall be run under FINA Swimming Rules 2017-2021 and its interpretations
Age Groups: Individual Events 8 & Under, 9 – 10, 11 – 12, 13 – 14, 15 & 17, 18 & over
Relays 10& Under, 11-14, 15+over
The age of the swimmer on December 31, 2018 will determine the age group that the swimmer is eligible
to swim.
Registration and Entries
The Registration form included should be filled and returned along with meet fee payment prior to the start
of the meet Friday October 4th.
Entries should be sent using Hy-Tek Team Manager Programme to Francisca Plummer () copying
seajaysswimclub@gmail.com no later than Tuesday 24th September 2019.
The following will apply to all entries:
1. There is no limit to the number of swimmers which your club can enter in an event, however,
only the two highest placed swimmers will score team points.
2. There shall be neither substitutes nor alternatives in individual events.
3. Each Club may enter one team per relay event for points and no more than 2 relays per age
group.
4. There is no restriction on the number of events in which an individual competitor may
participate.
5. Heats will be announced according to the printed schedule and it will be ultimately the
swimmers’ and their coaches’ responsibilities to ensure that the swimmer is at the starting
block on time
6. **There shall be a CLUB ENTRY FEE OF EC$50.INDIVIDUAL ENTRY FEE: EC$50 per swimmer
RELAY ENTRY FEE: EC$10 per relay
DECK SCRATCH FEE: EC$ 5
Entry Fees must be paid in full by Friday October 4th before the start of the meet
7. Swimmers competing in relay events must be registered in the meet and swim at least one
individual event.
8. WHERE INDICATED RACES WILL BE SWAM AS AN OPEN EVENT WITHIN THE AGES
INDICATED. POINTS WILL BE SCORED ACCORDING TO AGE GROUP
9. Proof of time from Team Manager must accompany entries for 400m free (which has been
removed for 2019).
10. Protests must be submitted to Meet Director within 30 minutes of results being posted. THE
APPEALS COMMITTEE WILL BE APPOINTED during the Technical Meeting on
Thursday, October 3rd 2019 and announced prior to the start of the meet.
Awards
1. Medals will be awarded to the top three (3) places in each event
2. Trophies and /or medals will be awarded to the top three point winners in each age group,
male and female.
3. A trophy will be awarded to the top scoring club.
4. Scoring shall be as follows:
1st place 9 points
2d place 7 points
3d place 6 points
4th place 5 points
5th place 4 points
6th place 3 points
7th place 2 points
8th place 1 point
There will double points awarded for relays.
Officials: The St. Lucia Aquatics Federation with Sea Jays Swim Club has the responsibility to provide
the Meet Referees, Chief Timer and to coordinate with all swim clubs to provide other officials.
SEA JAYS SWIM CLUB REQUESTS THAT EACH CLUB PROVIDE 1 TIMER FOR EVERY 5
SWIMMERS IT ENTERS FOR EACH SESSION OF THE MEET AND A MAXIMUM OF 6 OFFICIALS
FOR OVER 30 SWIMMERS ENTERED.
These names should be submitted to Meet Director within 1 week of the meet. All officials should be
available half hour before start of each session.
Sanctioned By: St. Lucia Aquatics Federation
Doctor on Call: Dr Owen Gabriel
Lifeguards: Will be on duty during warm up sessions and swim meet events.
Programme: There will be no preliminaries. All events are timed finals and seeded according to entry
times. The pool will open 1 ½ hour before the meet for warm up. Lane assignments will be given upon
arrival at the pool.
Heat Sheets will be on sale during the meet
Finishes: Swimmers will remain in their lane until all swimmers finish the race.
Refreshments: Sea Jays Swim Club will be selling refreshments throughout the meet.2019 SHORT COURSE NATIONAL
