PEOPLE AND DOGS IN THE PARKS AND CEMETARIES
The Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe and qual-
ity park system for the Adel Community. Park rules exist to ensure the park visitors
have a pleasant experience. Two specific park rules that need to be remembered
when taking a dog to a City Park:
   1. Dogs are to be leashed at all times
   2. Pet owners are asked to pick up and properly dispose of their pet’s waste.
Appreciation and thanks are extended to responsible pet owners who, along
with their pets, respect other park users and the park system. Our convenient
Dogi-Pot Stations have bags for pet waste in them and are located in all city parks.
 Thank-You!

 TOBACCO-FREE PARK POLICY

TREE PLANTING RECOGNITION PROGRAM:
The Adel Parks and Recreation Department welcomes tree lovers to donate a
tree for the community’s parks. You could recognize a retirement, anniversary,
birth, or any other civic-minded purpose. Due to special requests, we have set
up guidelines for persons wishing to plant a tree in any of the city parks in Adel.
Please contact Nick Schenck, Park and Rec. Director, for these special guidelines.

 TREE PLANTING APPROVAL
According to Chapter 151 of the City Code, trees to be planted in the right-
of-way between the sidewalk and street must receive written permission.
After selecting a tree from the official street tree species list for the City of
Adel, the City Tree Board will review the request. Contact Nick Schenck at
nschenck@adeliowa.org to begin the approval process.
