Welcome
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Declan Ennis and I am Head of
the Boarding School and with over 20 years of experience in integrating through
many areas an international, intercultural and global dimension as Director of
Internationalization for all our students at International School San Patricio Toledo,
Spain.
I am sure you have already received information about us, however, I would
also like you to know me directly for any further enquiries or doubts you may have.
We are in a beautiful location in Toledo, steeped in tradition and history, just 20
minutes away from Madrid by train.
I would like to take this opportunity to show you more of our International School
San Patricio Toledo.
We believe that as one of the top International schools we maintain constant

Our chef Manuel Carretero is passionate about food at all levels. From a very young age he has been an enthusiast of cooking, which led him to study at the Superior School of Gastronomy and Hostelry of Toledo, and then hands on experience in various restaurants, including sharing a kitchen with “Michelin Star “ chef Manolo de la Osa, in the renowned restaurant “Las Rejas”. Manuel is an award winning chef and has received awards on several occasions, both in cooking competitions (for example, the most recent award he obtained is the creative dish award in the first semi- final of the Castilla La Mancha Championship this year 2020), as well as being recognised as an official cutter of the delicious local ham in which he has been recognised in national category competitions. If you feel unwell the first thing to do is to let the duty member of staff know. They will then be able to assist you and let any other relevant people know. 2. If the member of staff on duty thinks you need to see Miss. Leticia Mateo-Sagasta, the school nurse, they will contact her. 3. Miss. Leticia will then assess your needs and take the appropriate action. If you need to see a Doctor she will assist you in making an appointment. 4. Study Sessions
We understand that weekends are for resting and enjoying, that’s why we propose two different
times for you to organize your study time. There is not study session on Sunday.
All the students are expected to attend the study session on time. Students must remain in silence
and working while in study time, staff on duty will be patrolling the study areas. During study time,
mobiles phones or headphones are not allowed to be used unless they have permission from
the staff.

You are expected to get yourself up and ready for school. From Monday to
Friday a music playlist will be on every morning from 7:45 onwards. The music
playlist is chosen by the students.

There is a full programme for outings, trips and excursions organised throughout the school year. Weekend trips and activities are compulsory for all students in the boarding house, except the Ski course. This is a wonderful and educational experience, to develop relationships between the borders, communication and autonomy. In each of the activities we will develop the emotional competences, establishing different spaces and activities so that all of them can fully exploit the student´s potential. This will be also an opportunity to enrich the communicative and linguistic competence in Spanish and English language. Many weekends, the students participate in activities such as: Trampoline Free Jump Park, Zip Line Toledo, Halloween Celebration Party, Christmas Dinner Celebrations, Grand Carnival Parade, Saint Patrick’s Day Celebrations and CAS Day Activities and Celebrations. Leaving school ground Monday to Thursday You are allowed to leave the site for a walk, to the supermarket or the Health Club near the school from 17:30 to 18:45. You must let the educators know where you are going and see them before leaving the site. Once the permission is granted, you must sign out in the green folder located in reception before you go and sign back in when you get back. To ensure the safety of our boarders, students must go in pairs or small groups, never alone. International School San Patricio Toledo 2020-2021
Friday to Sunday
You are allowed to leave the site to walk around the school area, supermarket and Health
Club with previous permission from the educators and not missing any meal, following the
same procedure as the weekday and always signing out and back in.
However, if you wish to leave school for the day or overnight at the weekend you must
complete the following steps by the Wednesday before:
- You must let your personal tutor know.
- Your parents or guardians must send an email to your personal tutor to give permission
for your departure by the Wednesday before.
- If you wish to stay away overnight, your parents must nominate a guardian if they
are not in charge of you, who will look after you for the duration of your exeat from
school. Your parents should include this information in their permission. The designated
guardian will also have to send another email with the agreement and attach a copy
of the ID or passport, address you are staying in and contact number.
- If a student from diploma has the need to leave the school during their school time
table and will not assist classes, they must have permission from the Coordinator of
Diploma. As an International Baccalaureate School, there are a number of hours the
students in Diploma must attend in all the subjects to fulfil the 2 year programme.
- If you have to leave during the school day for family or medical reasons, you must
notify your personal tutor 1 week in advance so that they can request permission
from the coordinator corresponding to your course. Once you have the coordinator’s
permission, it is essential to organise your personal tasks of all the subjects that you
have to do during your absence.
- If the above is not completed you will not be granted permission for your exit.
- Your personal tutor can cancel your permission if you don’t have a correct academic
progress or you have work to turn in.
*All the students must be back on Sunday before 20:00 unless you have previous
permission. Transfer from the train/bus station is available on Sunday before 20:00
depending on previous organisation.

snacks for the students, such as, milk, fruits, tea and biscuits. However, you can have your
snacks in the designated pantries and the fridges. No food, drinks or snacks are allowed in
the bedrooms. It is not permitted:

Students may report to their House Representatives at all times during the week, hence giving a solid and serious preparation for the House meeting. House Representatives responsabilities The role of the House Representative is to act as a liaison between Direction and the student body and to serve in a leadership capacity, by participating in school events and acting as role models. All students are required to complete tasks within the Residence to enable everyone to live happily and safely together, and to create a communal sense of ownership and pride. This is not a job for the House Representative, however he/she will be expected to make sure that the student body are fully aware of keeping the Residence and communal areas a welcoming place for all. As new students may initially be unfamiliar with aspects of Residential Life, for example sharing a room with others or living within such a culturally diverse community, this is one role that the House Representative would have in the first few months of the school course. Boarding information Visitors If a student wishes to invite people from out of the residence, they must request a previous authorization of the educators. Visits are not allowed without this authorization. The guest can only enter the common areas, never in the rooms. All visitors must sign in and out in reception and wear visitor badges all the times that they are in. Complaints If you have any issues with any aspect of life in your boarding house, you should in the first instance discuss this with the House representative. If the matter is not resolved, or if this is not possible, the Boarding Educators are present at all times after their classes. The students always have the opportunity to present any complaint to the Director of the Boarding School. Damage As young teenagers accidents do happen. However, no matter what the case maybe, you must report any incident to you Boarding Educator. If vandalism has taken place; the relevant student’s parents will be contacted and charged for the damage. It is really important to remember that we live in a community where everyone has the right to enjoy the facilities and an adequate amount of respect for all Boarding House property is necessary. Sports
TIf students request to take part of a sports club or an activity that cannot be offered at
school, we will give you the opportunity to do so in the local area of Toledo.
The student or family must give prior notice of this before the school course begins,
preferable in the months of the previous academic year. In Toledo there are activities such
as Taekwondo, soccer, tennis, basketball, rugby, etc. The Boarding team can contact the
clubs in Toledo to arrange these activities.

Alongside the school there is a Health club and Spa available for the students to use with
free access. A great opportunity to participate in areas such as:
