Corrosion-protected rail

 Zinoco®: Next generation corrosion protection
• Offers two lines of corrosion defence:
     • Durable and effective barrier to corrosion
     • Sacrificial protection so still works if coating is
       damaged
• Suited for aggressive track conditions affected by
  salt and water:
     • Coastal environments
     • Tunnels
     • Level crossings
     • Areas of stray current
     • Sabkhas
Zinoco® detail
• Zinoco is:
    • a thermally sprayed zinc-rich alloy
    • applied to the web and around the foot of
       each rail
    • available in lengths from 9 to 216m
• Can be applied to rails of any grade
• The ends of each rail are left uncoated to facilitate
  installation welding
• Protects in virtually any environment including
  3rd/4th rail areas

 Sogenox®: Full speed-assured electrical contact

• Offers effective electrical connectivity for signalling
  with no compromise on rail/wheel interface
• Suited for infrequently used routes which may
  become oxidised
• Austenitic stainless steel crown integral to the rail
  ensures track circuit connectivity at full line speed
Stress-Free heat-treated rail

 SF350: Wear-resistant with low residual stress

• Highly wear-resistant ‘stress-free’ heat-treated rail
  conforming to national and international standards
• Uniquely low residual stress improving foot fatigue
  performance by factor of 3
• Suited for high traffic and heavy axle loads

• Comparison to R260
    • 3 times wear-resistance
    • 2 times RCF-resistance
    • 3 times foot fatigue-resistance
