e are delighted to see the return of the 2019 COSAFA U20
Youth Championship to Zambia for the third year running
after the hugely successful events staged in 2017 and 2018.
It is always exciting to see the next generation of young stars from
our Southern African region that will provide the backbone for our senior
national teams in the future.
But as much as we take joy in this, for the players it is a huge opportunity
to showcase their talent and catch the eye of the watching world, perhaps
providing them with a springboard in their fledgling careers.
COSAFA’s mandate is to develop football in the Southern African region
and our Under-20 Championship goes to the heart of that. It is not just the
players who benefit, but referees, coaches and administrators all get the
opportunity to see a major international competition from the inside out.
That is invaluable and we are very proud of the commitment we have
made in this regard and delighted with the results we have seen so far. HOW TO FOLLOW THE
