My Dear Friends,

For the past forty days we have journeyed together through the desert of Lent and now we are
at the gates of Jerusalem, ready to dine with the Lord at the Passover Supper on Thursday, to
carry our cross and join Him Good Friday on Mount Calvary, to wait with the women at the
tomb, and ultimately, to experience the joy of the Resurrection on Easter Morn! Praise the Lord!

Lent focused on “Forgiveness, Renewal, and Surrender.” This Easter, our focus in on “New Life
in Christ!” May these fifty days of Easter be a time of both joy and peace for you and your
family. I pray that you will encounter the Risen Lord during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in
the quiet of Eucharistic Adoration, in whispers of Confession, in the embrace of your family,
in the laughter of your friends and in the faces of those you meet throughout this Holy Season.

I’m delighted that Fr. Lenin Fernandez will be joining us for most of these holy days. Thank you
for welcoming him. In the same breath, it is with a heavy heart that we will say farewell to Sister
Theresa Betz as she returns to the Sisters of Notre Dame motherhouse in Ohio. She has been a
wonderful blessing to me and our parish.

As you read this booklet, please circle the events of interest, mark your calendars and invite
others to join you. They will thank God that you did!

May the peace and joy of the Risen Lord be with you all!

“Formed by Word and Sacrament, we, the people of St. Paul Catholic Church,
are a Spirit-led, Eucharist-centered, vibrant multicultural Christian community of faith,
living our love for God and neighbor while growing together as disciples of Christ."

Have you ever wondered where the Mass comes from?
The Seder Supper is a wonderful way to recall our

Sick throughout the year will be blessed and consecrated. All are welcome!

Wednesday, April 17 Via Crucis

provided), but the desire to grow in love with God is!

The Sacred Triduum 2019
                            St. Paul Catholic Church
The Sacred Triduum commemorates the central mystery of our faith ... the Passion,
Death, and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Beginning on Thursday
evening with the Mass of the Lord's Supper and continuing through Good Friday's
Passion of the Lord to the great Easter Vigil, it is the celebration of the gift of our
redemption through Jesus Christ. As in years' past, our children are invited to attend all
three liturgies - Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil/Sunday and have their
"Passports to Holiness" signed. On May 15, those who have completed their “Passports
to Holiness” will be treated to a bowling and pizza party with Fr. Bill!

Holy Thursday, April 18 Mass of the Lord’s Supper
The day starts with Morning Prayer at 7:10am. In the evening, the
Sacred Triduum begins with the Mass of the Lord's Supper at
7:00pm. It is a powerful commemoration of the Last Supper with
the washing of feet. Afterwards, the Most Holy Sacrament of the
Eucharist will be reserved in our Chapel of Repose in the Family
Center until midnight. All are welcome to spend some quality time
   with the Lord.

Visita Iglesia. Many cultures have the tradition of visiting five churches this evening. We
would like to honor this tradition, beginning and concluding at St. Paul. Afterwards, we'll
go for breakfast. This is a wonderful way to "stay awake" and to join the Lord in prayer in
the "Garden of Gethsemene." For more information, contact Stephen Watkins or Deacon
   Frank at the parish office.

Good Friday, April 19 (day of fast and abstinence) Passion of the Lord
Today, we reflect on the sacrifice Christ made for our salvation. According to the Church's
ancient tradition, the Sacraments are not celebrated today or tomorrow.

   7:10am Morning Prayer
Noon Stations of the Cross hosted by the youth of St. Paul. This is a favorite for many
               of our parishioners.
2:30pm Fr. Bill will begin our nine day Novena to Divine Mercy

of our salvation. There will be a Communion Service.

celebrate the powerful service for those who were unable
to attend earlier. The Gospel Passion Story will be sung
              by our wonderful 10:45 choir.
7:30pm Celebração da Paixão do Senhor no Centro de Familia
              em português.

              flashlight and a friend!

Holy Saturday, April 20 Easter Vigil
Today, the Church waits at the Lord's tomb, meditating on His suffering and death.

8:30am Preparation Rites for those to be received

whatever graces they need in the hardships of life, and,
especially at the hour of death.”

If you would like to pray the novena at home, school, or work,
