The technology
            Electrolysis

Through the electrolysis process, hydrogen is produced when applying
electrical current to water. By using renewable electricity (solar, wind,…),
it is considered clean hydrogen (H2).

                    + → H 2 + ½ O2
Electrolysis can produce 100% renewable hydrogen if combined with
renewable energy. It is a modular and scalable solution; no combustion
or gas emissions are involved in its production process.

The technology
            Vertical integration

➢ There are four technology strands to the development of electrolyzers
    for hydrogen production:
➢ Stack technology (pilling or stacking of
          membranes where the electrolysis takes
          place); Giner ELX’s (Plug Power)
          technological agreement
➢ Balance of Plant or BoP (on the basis of stack requirements, H2B2
designs and develops the equipment and auxiliary systems that allow
the stack to work, optimising the whole system efficiency)
➢ Integration technology (of the stack with the BoP, electrolyser with
other plant components such as storage and compression, and plant
          with renewable energyfacilities)
➢ The expertise associated with the O&M
