VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
If you would like to give back to the community but not sure
how/where….
Look no further; we require volunteers for a variety of roles
such as transporting clients for appointments to Bunbury &
Busselton, local appointments, and meals on wheels delivery. Other
volunteering roles are also available such as helping out at our clubs,
running our monthly raffles, cooking & other club activities.
Please note: You will be provided with a work vehicle for
transports to Bunbury or Busselton.
We would love to have some wonderful volunteers to commit to sitting
on the Newsagency corner every so often selling raffle tickets to fund
raise for the Wellness and Respite Community Centre.
The more volunteers we have, the less time commitment for each
person.
The raffles have been a great fundraiser and we would love to
continue.

He was delighted with the service and very much enjoyed the social
aspect of the morning. Also. He made new and caught up with old
friends over a hot cuppa and scone.
There are no payments required, although donations are welcome.

Short Story Jokes
International Jokes Day 1 July 2021
Husbands & Wives
A couple were driving along a country road in silence. They had
earlier had a discussion,, which in turn led to an argument, and
neither one wanted to concede their position. As they passed a
farmyard, they noticed several pigs, mules and goats.
“Relatives of Yours?” the husband asked sarcastically.
“Yes,” said his wife”- IN—LAWS,’

Ultimate Revenge

“Cash or Credit Card?” asked the sales lady to a woman shopper.
As the woman struggled with her purse, the remote control for a TV
set came tumbling out onto the counter. “Do you always carry your
TV remote around with you?” she asked the woman.
“No,” she replied, “but I asked my husband to come shopping with
me and he refused, so this is the most severe punishment I can
hive him that’s still legal.”

Words, Words, Words

A husband is reading a newspaper article to his wife.
“Women use about 30,000 words to a man’s 15,000” he reads.
“That’s because we have to repeat everything we say to men,” she
replies.
Her husband gets the paper and says “WHAT?”

The Speeding Car

A state policeman pulls over a speeding car.
“I was only going 40!” the driver protests.
“Not according to my radar,” says the policeman.
“yes I was!” the man shouts back.
“No you weren’t.” the policeman says.
With that the man’s wife leans towards the window and says:
“Officer, I should warn you not to argue with my husband when he’s
been drinking”.

Cairo The Military Dog

Cairo is a Belgian Malinois that
was bred to be a military dog.
Malinois were a very unfamiliar
shepherd breed outside of
Belgian until Cairo’s story
became news.

Navy SEAL Will Chesney first
met his military working dog
named Cairo in 2008. They went on a seven-week training camp in
California. Cairo learned how to attack a target, to bite and release on
command, to skydive, to sniff out weapons and improvised explosive
devices, and to move quickly and quietly through unforgiving terrain.
Cairo proved to be obedient and intelligent and ready for action.

In June 2009 they were deployed to Afghanistan. During a mission that
involved heavy firefight with insurgents, Cairo was shot in the chest
and front leg. The call went over the radio. “FWIAI” - friendly wounded
in action. There was no distinction between human and canine. Cairo
was a SEAL.

He survived, and in May 2011 Cairo was the only dog to accompany a
Navy SEAL team to Pakistan in search of Osama bin Laden. He sat in
the Black Hawk helicopter—wearing a vest and night vision
goggles—with another 11 Navy SEALS as they descended upon
Osama bin Laden’s compound in what would come to be known as
Operation Neptune Spear.

The raid on Bin Laden’s compounds was supposed to have taken 15
minutes but the helicopter malfunctioned and instead of landing gently
it landed heavily, spoiling the element of surprise. The noise woke
everyone up in the compound and they rushed outside. Cairo helped to
secure the perimeter, barking furiously and forcing people to retreat
while the SEALS stormed the compound. Thirty—eight minutes later,
Bin Laden was dead and Cairo and the SEALS were on their way back
home. The members of the SEAL team and Cairo became
national heroes.

How to Play Suduko

Sudoku is a puzzle involving logic - no arithmetic or guessing is
required! The basic idea of completing puzzles is to find cells (the small
squares) where you are sure that only one value is a valid placement.
                              The Basics
The rules of Sudoku are that you should fill a number in to every cell in
the grid, using the numbers 1 to 9. The restriction is that you can only
use each number once in each row, each column, and in each of the 3
x 3 boxes.

Horse Trivia
Source: GoldenCarers.com

There are an estimated 75 million horses in the world. The smallest
horse in the world is the South American Falabellas averaging 32
inches / 78 cms and the tallest the Shire from England averaging 5.8
feet or 178 cms.
Arabian horses have one less rib, one less lumbar bone, and one or
two fewer tail vertebrae than other horses. Brumbies are free-roaming
wild horses in Australia.
They are in great number in the Australian Alps region in
South-Eastern Australia.
Horse riding in the U.K. is more popular than rugby, fishing and cricket.
4.6 million Americans are involved in the equine industry as horse
owners, service providers, employees and volunteers.
Tens of millions more participate as spectators. Mustangs are a breed
of horse that roam wild in North America.
They are related to the horses the Spanish brought to North America
400 years ago. Wild horses in New Zealand are called 'Kaimanawa';
they are domestic horses released in the 19th and 20 centuries.

About Horses and American Indians

In 1540 the Spanish introduced horses into America. Some escaped
and became wild horses. In the 1600s Spanish missionaries and
settlers made their home in New Mexico, west of Texas. The Spanish
used the Indians as slaves and workers. The slaves and workers soon
learned to work with horses; training and riding them, but at that time
there was a law that prohibited Indians to have horses and guns.
In 1680 the Indians revolted against the Spanish and drove them off
their land and back to Old Mexico.
The Indians then started to use the horses like the Spanish; breeding
them and teaching other tribes to ride them so they could trade them.
The horses changed life for the Indians; when before they hunted
buffalos on foot, they now had horses.

They now could keep up with a running buffalo and get close enough
to shoot the beasts with arrows.
