aged care services south coast FADDEN EXPO RUNAWAY BAY The Gold Coast team headed up by Lisa and Merron did a wonderful job representing Co.As.It. at the Fadden Expo on Wednesday 18th July. The expo held at Runaway Bay was attended by over 3,000 seniors who enjoyed a free sausage sizzle, live music and entertainment in the nearby park. A myriad of businesses were offering information about their services to this growing segment of our community. The Expos are not only a wealth of information for participants but also a joyful opportunity to meet new people and interact with the wider community. 4

Betty is truly an inspiration. I
left my appointment with her
feeling like I was living a boring
STILL JUMPING OUT OF PLANES AT 85!
existence. I asked her what her
secret was to living actively and
her response was “Live, don’t just
exist!”.
Betty wanted to do something
that thrilled her on her 80th
birthday after she received a Hot
Air Balloon adventure on her 75th
Birthday. She told her children
she loved it but she told me that
it really didn’t ‘cut it’ when it came
to thrill seeking.
Betty has always loved thriller

dance classes each week as

as healthily and as actively as
possible.
Betty was granted permission by
her doctor to skydive on her 85th
birthday and is very excited to go
again on her 90th!

È molto utile invece familiarizzare con l’idea che è possibile gestire le emozioni negative, che è possibile, apprendendo le giuste tecniche, imparare a gestire le emozioni, che possiamo imparare a conviverci, in modo che non prendano il sopravvento e non abbiano il controllo sulla nostra vita. Le nostre emozioni non sopraggiungono mai a caso, anche quando sembrano esserci senza un apparente motivo. Questo è perché le nostre emozioni sono collegate alla nostra vita e al suo andamento, alle situazioni che ogni giorno siamo chiamati a gestire, alle relazioni che intessiamo e alla qualità della vita stessa. Le emozioni veicolano sempre un messaggio e sta a noi decifrarlo e fare ciò che serve. Quindi il primo passo per poter controllare le emozioni è porre attenzione agli eventi della nostra vita, e a quali 18

At that altitude, a panorama of greenery reminded everyone of the landscapes of their youth, the clear sunshine and pure air as they were growing up. As soon as the clients arrived at the dairy, they started patting the cows with their calves. There were goats, piglets, chickens, and lambs and the animals were so gentle and responsive – especially if there was a bit of food to be shared! An interesting documentary on the dairy and its operations was enjoyed by everyone before a delicious morning tea and taste testing of various types of milk, custards and yoghurt gave everyone a tummy full of milk products! 20

The company will be performing for the 2018 QPAC International Series. Teatro alla Scala General Manager Maria Di Freda and Balle Director Frédéric Olivieri, along with Star Principal Dancers Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko arrived from Milan on a visit in the lead up to the company’s Brisbane only performances of Don Quixote and Giselle in November 2018. During their whirlwind trip in Brisbane, the special guests attended community events celebrating Italian National Day, as well as participating in numerous media engagements. The Italian Language Centre in Brisbane provided interpreters Francesca Cerniglia and Laura Zanichelli to assist with Italian-English simultaneous interpreting. As one of the most recognised cultural brands in the world, Teatro alla Scala’s exclusive to QPAC Australian premiere season furthers the state’s reputation as a cultural hub. During the 2018 QPAC International Series, 115 Teatro alla Scala members, including 75 dancers, will take up residency in Queensland for three weeks in November, in a blockbuster program celebrating Italian arts and culture on and off the stage.
